Rutland County Council District Council (‘the Council’) has powers under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) to make traffic regulation orders affecting the adopted highway within the County of Rutland.
TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council has made an order entitled the Rutland County Council District Council (Temporary Diversion of Vehicular Traffic) Whissendine Road Parish of Ashwell CP Order 2024 as the Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
The effect of the order is that during the dates and times specified below all vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along the length of road known as Whissendine Road Level Crossing to allow Network Rail to remove and renew Level Crossing.
The duration of the Closure shall be for a maximum period of six months from 23 March 2024 or until the works are completed.
It is anticipated the works will take between 8 and 12 hours on multiple dates. The closure shall come into force when the appropriate signs and diversion route are erected on site.
The duration of the Closures shall be as follows:
23/03/2024 08:00 – 16:00, 08/05/2024 22:00 – 09/05/2024 06:00, 28/06/2024 20:00 – 01/07/2024 07:00 (overnight only),
06/07/2024 20:00 – 07/07/2024 12:00, 31/07/2024 21:00 – 01/08/2024 06:00
The alternative route during the closure will be via the route shown on the attached plan and as shown on https://one.network
The alternative route during the closure will be via the following streets: Whissendine Road, Oakham Road, Brookdene, Ashwell Road, Burley Park Way, Lands End Roundabout, Barleythorpe Roundabout, Melton Road, Whissendine Lane and Main Street with a reciprocal route.
Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.
