SOMERSET COUNCIL

A358 MINEHEAD ROAD, NORTON FITZWARREN, VARIOUS ROADS, BISHOPS LYDEARD, A358 FLAXPOOL HILL AND A358 TAUNTON ROAD, CROWCOMBE, A358 HALSWAY HILL AND A358 TAUNTON ROAD, BICKNOLLER (IN THE PARISHES OF BISHOPS LYDEARD, BICKNOLLER, SAMPFORD BRETT, CROWCOMBE, COMBE FLOREY, WEST BAGBOROUGH AND LYDEARD ST LAWRENCE) PART REVOCATION, 50MPH AND 40MPH SPEED LIMIT EXTENSIONS ORDER 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that Somerset Council proposes to make the above Order in pursuance of the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to introduce 50mph and 40mph Speed Limit Extensions on the lengths of roads as specified in Schedules 1 and 2 to this Notice. Somerset County Council The County of Somerset (A39 Carhampton to Williton 30MPH Speed Limits and 50MPH Speed Limits) & (A358 Williton to Taunton 50MPH Speed Limits) Order 2004 is hereby part revoked as specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice. The provisions of any other orders are hereby revoked but only as far as they are affected by the restrictions of this Order.

A copy of the draft Order, the maps showing the length of road affected and the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected online atwww.somerset.gov.uk/TRO.

Any person wishing to make representations or to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their representations or objection and state the grounds on which it is made to Somerset Council, via email to TROinbox@somerset.gov.uk quoting Reference No. KT30112023 and received no later than 21 days from the publication of this notice. The names and addresses of anyone writing in may be made available for public inspection and will be included in a report that may be published on the Somerset Council website, unless the individuals concerned state, in writing, their objection to their names and addresses being made so available or being included in the publication.

A358 Bishops Lydeard Bypass, Bishops Lydeard - From its junction with Taunton Road in a north westerly direction for a distance of 770 metres to a point 140 metres south of its junction with Bishops Lydeard Bypass Roundabout

A358 Flaxpool Hill and A358 Taunton Road, Crowcombe, A358 Halsway Hill and A358 Taunton Road, Bicknoller & Sampford Brett - From a point 20 metres north of Roebuck Gate Lane in a northerly direction to a point 220 metres north west of Luckes Lane, Sampford Brett

A358 Greens Hill, Bishops Lydeard - From its junction with Red Post Lower Road in a south easterly direction to the junction with Holford Lane

A358 Williton Road, Bishops Lydeard - From its junction with Holford Lane in a south easterly direction to 100 metres south of its junction with Nethercott Lane

A358 Bishops Lydeard Bypass/Williton Road, Bishops Lydeard - From a point 90 metres north of the junction with Bishops Lydeard Bypass Roundabout in a northerly direction for a distance of 900 metres to the junction of Watts Lane and Williton Road

A358 Williton Road, Bishops Lydeard - From the junction with the A358 Bishops Lydeard Bypass/Williton Road and Watts Lane in a northerly direction for a distance of 3720 metres

Minehead Road, Bishops Lydeard - From its junction with the A358 in a south easterly direction for a distance of 54 metres

Minehead Road, Bishops Lydeard - From its junction with the A358 in a westerly direction for a distance of 30 metres

Grendon House Road, Bishops Lydeard - For its entire length

Watts Lane, Bishops Lydeard - From the junction with the A358 Williton Road in a north easterly direction for a distance of 100 metres

West Street, Bishops Lydeard - From its junction with Watts Lane in a south easterly direction for a distance of 60 metres

2. Bishops Lydeard Bypass (A358) - from its junction with West Street in a south easterly direction to a point 305 metres north west of its junction with Grendon House Road.

7. Kingston St Mary Road - from its junction with Williton Road (A358) for a distance of 61 metres in a south easterly direction.

8. Knapp Lane - for its entire length.

11. Raleigh Cross Road - from its junction with Williton Road (A358) for a distance of 71 metres in a westerly direction.

15. Watts Lane - from its junction with West Street for a distance of 110 metres in a north easterly direction.

16. West Street - from its junction with Minehead Road (A358) for a distance of 56 metres in a north easterly direction.

17. Williton Road (A358) - from its junction with Red Post Lower Road in a south easterly direction to its junction with West Street.

STATEMENT OF REASONS FOR PROPOSING TO MAKE THE ORDER

For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
