What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF SANDWELL 

The council has made the following orders: The Borough Council of Sandwell (Long Stay On-Street Pay and Display Parking) (Wednesbury and West Bromwich) Order 2023 (Virtual Payment Parking Minor Order) 2024 and The Borough Council of Sandwell (Virtual Payment Off-Street Parking Places Order No.25) (Minor Order) 2024 which will amend as follows: a) Introduce Virtual Permits, Virtual Season Tickets and Virtual Payment Parking Tickets for designated on-street and off-street permit parking places or areas in Sandwell. b) Introduce virtual dispensations for on-street restrictions and prohibitions in Sandwell. c) Allow checking of a valid permit, season ticket, payment parking ticket or dispensation for a parked vehicle by means of a handheld device and an electronic database approved by the council as an alternative to displaying a valid permit, season ticket, payment parking ticket or dispensation ticket in the vehicle when parked in a permit parking place, payment parking place, area restriction or prohibition. Both orders were made on 15/02/2024 and shall come into effect on 18/03/2024. Full details may be examined at: Sandwell Council House, Freeth Street, Oldbury, West Midlands, B69 3DE during normal office hours. Anyone wishing to question the validity of the order, claiming any aspect of the relevant legislation has not been complied with, can apply to the High Court by 28/03/2024.
