Charlton Road - Temporary Closure

Parish of Shepton Mallet Temporary Closure of Charlton Road
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Charlton Road - east of the junction with Whitstone Road, for a distance of 100 metres; and Charlton Road - west of the junction with Whitstone Road, for a distance of 88 metres.
This Order will enable Centregreat Ltd to carry out traffic signal refurbishment works on behalf of Somerset Council Major Projects.
The Order becomes effective on 7th March 2024 and will remain in force for eighteen months. These phased works are expected to commence on 11th March 2024 and last until 13th March 2024 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 3 days east of the junction with Whitstone Road and again on the 7th May 2024 and last until 13th May 2024 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 5 days and 9th April 2024 and last until 25th April 2024 for a total of 13 days west of the junction with Whitstone Road and again on the 7th May 2024 and last until 13th May 2024 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 5 days. (Closure to be in place 24 hours apart from the weekends when the road will be open).
