What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (CHURCH LANE, MARPLE AND OTHER ROADS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, TEMPORARY 10MPH SPEED LIMIT AND TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN) ORDER 2024 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffc Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffc (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving Church Lane, Marple Between Trinity Street and Hibbert Lane. Diversion route via Hibbert Lane, Upper Hibbert Lane, Hawk Green Road, Ridge Road and Church Lane. Shaw Heath, Cale Green From Longshut Lane West to Adswood Lane East. Diversion route via Longshut Lane West, Wellington Road South, Bramhall Lane and Cale Green, and vice versa. Abergele Street, Davenport Full length. 
Diversion One via Winifred Road, Buxton Road and Kennerley Road. Diversion Two via Countess Street, Buxton Road and Kennerley Road.

Countess Street First 25 metres at the junction with Abergele Street Winifred Road First 25 metres at the junction with Abergele Street. Shaw Heath, Cale Green From Lyme Grove to Wellington Grove Temporary 10mph speed limit whilst signs are displayed during working times. Mill Street, Hazel Grove Temporary Prohibition of Right Turn when exiting on to A6 London Road whilst signs are displayed during working times whilst traffc signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads. This Order is necessary because strategic road repairs are being, or are proposed to be executed. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be up to 3 weeks on each scheme. This Order is to come into operation on the 1 March 2024 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
