THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (ALDWYCH SQUARE AND ALDERSHOT SQUARE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 20th February 2024 it made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all pedestrian traffic from those sections of footpaths and footways described in the schedule. The Order is required to allow for works to the gas main. The order comes into force on 4th March 2024. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be six months. However, it is anticipated that the works will take approximately six weeks. All pedestrians will be prohibited from those sections of footpaths and footways described in the schedule (except for personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided and pedestrian access to properties will be maintained throughout.
Schedule: Aldwych Square from the extended western property boundary of no.7 Aldwych Square to the extended eastern property boundary of no.49 Aldwych Square; and Aldershot Square from the extended western property boundary of no.20 Aldershot Square to the extended eastern property boundary of no.57 Aldershot Square.
Dated: 21st February 2024. Patrick Melia, Chief Executive, Sunderland City Council, City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland, SR1 3AA
