Public Footpath 0920084 Rivington - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH 0920084 RIVINGTON, CHORLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 26th March, 2024, remaining in force until the 26th September, 2024, or until the works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding over that length of Public Footpath, indicated below:-
Public Footpath 0920084 Rivington, Chorley, from Point A (GR 6602 1435) in a generally north easterly direction for a distance of approximately 385 metres to Point B (GR 6622 1467) near the television station on Winter Hill, Rivington
The temporary closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpath.
Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpath, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpath, will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works.
