ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (Public Footpath Ninfield 14a (part)) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023
To protect public safety during a housing development, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 10 February 2023 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:
Temporary Footpath Closure
Part of Public Footpath Ninfield 14a will be closed to all users between TQ 7086 1208 and TQ 7093 1209 for a distance of 75 metres. An alternative route will be available to the south of the route along Ingrams Green.
The closure will be in force for 6 months from 21 February 2024, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use.

The East Sussex (U6938 Coppards Lane, Northiam) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Coppards Lane – from the junction with A28 Station Road to the junction with A268 Whitebread Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A268 Whitebread Lane – A28 Station Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced 1 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 21 and 22 February depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C22 Chapel Hill, Sedlescombe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Chapel Hill – from the junction with C22 Cottage Lane to the junction with C22 Crazy Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C22 Cottage Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 21 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 21 and 23 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6207 Coneyburrow Lane, Bexhill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Coneyburrow Lane – from the junction with A259 Barnhorn Road to the junction with U6208 Sandhurst Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6208 Sandhurst Lane – A259(T) Barnhorn Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 19 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 19 and 22 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C639 Chowns Hill, Hastings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Chowns Hill – from the junction with C639 Ivyhouse Lane to the junction with B2093 The Ridge.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2093 The Ridge – U3254 Ivyhouse Lane and vice versa.
The Order commenced 30 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 20 and 21 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6566 Station Road, Bexhill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Station Road – from the junction with B2182 Sea Road to the junction with A269 Buckhurst Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A269 Buckhurst Road, Town Hall Square, Buckhurst Road, Upper Sea Road.
The Order commenced 15 November 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 19 and 23 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C639 Ivyhouse Lane, Guestling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Ivyhouse Lane – from the junction with C22 Three Oaks Road to the junction with C639 Chowns Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C22 Three Oaks Road, The Moor, Moor Lane – A28 Church Lane, Westfield Lane – A2100 Maplehurst Road – B2093 The Ridge, Conquest roundabout, The Ridge – C639 Chowns Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 22 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 22 and 23 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3065 Theaklen Drive, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Theaklen Drive – from the junction with U3065 Menzies Road to the junction with U3065 Drury Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3065 Theaklen Drive, Pondswood Road – C664 Sedlescombe Road South – B2159 Battle Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced 30 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 19 February and 18 March 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C345 Watermill Lane, Bexhill/Catsfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Watermill Lane – from the junction with U6209 Freezeland Lane to the junction with U6115 Spratts Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C345 Watermill Lane, Church Road – B2204 The Green, The Stream, Catsfield Road – A269 Bexhill Road, Ninfield Road – A2691 Haven Brook Avenue – C345 Watermill Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 19 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 19 and 21 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3145 St Johns Road, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
St Johns Road – from the junction with U3157 Church Road to the junction with U3144 Western Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via U3144 Western Road, Warrior Gardens – U3157 Church Road & westbound via U3157 Church Road – U3160 Warrior Square – A259 Grand Parade – A2102 London Road – U3145 Kings Road.
The Order commenced 8 September 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 19 and 24 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2098 Collington Avenue, Bexhill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Collington Avenue – from the junction with P6599 Cranleigh Close to the junction with U6562 Holmesdale Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2098 Collington Avenue – U6527 Birk Dale – B2182 Cooden Sea Road – A259 Little Common roundabout, Little Common Road – A269 London Road, Town Hall Square – B2098 Buckhurst Place, Terminus Road, Collington Avenue and vice versa.
The Order commences 20 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 20 and 21 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3139 Undercliff, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow Lightning Fibre to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Undercliff – from the junction with A259 Marina to the junction with U3139 Burton Way.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible and an alternative route for through traffic Eastbound via A259 Marina – U3139 Burton Way and Westbound via U3139 Quarry Hill – U3128 Maze Hill – U3139 Maze Hill, East Ascent, Gardner Way – A259 Marina.
The Order commences 22 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 and 24 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U3254 Ivyhouse Lane, Hastings/Guestling & C639 Ivyhouse Lane, Guestling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;
Temporary Road Closures
Ivyhouse Lane – from the junction with B2093 The Ridge to the junction with C639 Chowns Hill.
Diversion via B2093 The Ridge – C639 Chowns Hill and vice versa.
Ivyhouse Lane – from the junction with C639 Chowns Hill to the junction with C22 Three Oaks Road. Diversion via C22 Three Oaks Road, Moor Lane – A28 Church Lane, Westfield Lane – A2100 Maplehurst Road – B2093 The Ridge – C639 Chowns Hill and vice versa.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic as set out above. The Order commenced 30 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 20 and 21 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
George Street – for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible. The Order commences 4 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 March 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Wellington Mews – from the junction with U3188 Elford Street to the junction with U3188 Stonefield Place.

The Order commences 4 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 6 March 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C18 Station Road, Robertsbridge) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Station Road – 20 metres either side of the level crossing.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C18 Station Road, Brightling Road, Rectory Hill – C280 Cackle Street – B2096
Darwell Hill, Kane Hythe Road – A271 North Trade Road – A2100 London Road – A21 Johns Cross Road – C18 George Hill, High Street, Station Road and vice versa. The Order commences 2 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 4 March 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A269 Standard Hill, Ninfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Standard Hill – from the junction with A271 Kitchenham Road to the junction with U7699 Coombe Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A271 Boreham Hill, The Strait, Windmill Hill Road, Gardner Street, Hailsham Road, New Road, Amberstone, Hawkswood Road, Upper Horsebridge, Lower Horsebridge – A22 Boship roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Polegate Road, Hailsham Road – A27(T) Cop Hall roundabout, Polegate bypass, Dittons Road roundabout, Pevensey bypass, Pevensey Haven roundabout – A259(T) Marsh Road, Barnhorn Road, Little Common roundabout, Little Common Road – A2690 Combe Valley Way – A2691 Haven Brook Avenue – A269 Ninfield Road, Bexhill Road, The Green, High Street, Standard Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 4 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on the following periods depending upon the weather conditions: from 19:00hrs to 07:00hrs between 4 and 11 March 2024 (with weekend working); from 19:00hrs to 07:00hrs between 13 and 16 March 2024 ; from 19:00hrs to 07:00hrs between 23 and 26 April 2024.
