REGULATION ORDER 2024
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council propose to make an
Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 not less than seven days from the date hereof the
Highway Authority being satisfied that access to the said
road should be prohibited because works are being or are
proposed to be carried out on or near the road.
The effect of the Order, which will come into effect on
26th February 2024, will be to temporarily close the
lengths of road specified in the Schedule 1 below and the
car park specified in Schedule 2 at such times as traffic
management signs may be erected to notify highway users
of the closures and to introduce a right-turn prohibition
along the lengths of the roads specified in Schedule 3,
introducing a clearway on the lengths of roads specified
in Schedule 4, no stopping at any time restrictions to
the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 5, except for
hackney carriages during the hours of 8pm to 4am Monday
to Sunday, no waiting at any time restrictions to the lengths
of roads specified in Schedule 6, no waiting at any time
restrictions to the lengths of roads specified in Schedule
7, except hackney carriages between the hours of 8pm to
4am Monday to Sunday, and a one-way operation to the
lengths of roads specified in Schedule 8. It is expected
that works will begin on the 26th February 2024 for a
period of six months. The Order may continue in force for
a maximum period of eighteen months. The Police and
emergency services will be informed of the closures prior
to the works commencing. Access for pedestrians and
emergency services will be maintained through the works.
Bus services will be affected.

Norton Road and Leven Road.

Norton Road and High Street.
High Street, Norton - West side service road between its
junctions with Leven Road and unnamed back street to Fox
Street.

Schedule 2 - Temporary Car Park Closure
Car park in front of 2-10 High Street, Norton - Full
extent.
Schedule 3 - Temporary Right Turn Prohibition
Holly Street, Norton - At its junction with B1274 High
Street.
High Street, West Side Service Road, Norton - At its
junction with B1274 High Street.

Street in a westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

High Street, Norton (North to South) - Service road
between its junctions with Leven Road and unnamed back
