Croydon, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic

What is happening?

CROYDON COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT. 1984. SECTION 14 AS AMENDED THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS WHITEHALL ROAD. THORNTON HEATH TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC & PARKING

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate electric cable laying works to improve electric vehicle charging facilities at Thornton Heath Bus Garage, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements and parking in Whitehall Road, Thornton Heath.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

a) Whitehall Road will be closed between the common boundaries of Nos. 11a and 13 and Nos. 23 and 25 Whitehall Road.

b) Parking bays between the common boundaries of Nos. 11a and 13 and Nos 33 and 35 Whitehall Road, and parking bays between the common boundaries of Nos. 8 and 10 Whitehall Road and Nos. 1 Colvin Road and 12 Whitehall Road will be suspended, and waiting and loading restrictions will apply "at any time".

c) One-way working in Whitehall Road will be suspended to allow two-way traffic.

3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative routes for diverted traffic will be via Thornton Road and Broughton Road or Thornton Road and Colvin Road, as appropriately signposted. Residents' access will be maintained.

4. The Order will come into operation on 07 March 2024, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 17 March 2024. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extents as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate electric cable laying works to improve electric vehicle charging facilities at Thornton Heath Bus Garage, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements and parking in Sutherland Road and Greenside Road, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

a) Sutherland Road will be closed between its junctions with Canterbury Road and Midhurst Avenue.

b) Sutherland Road will be closed at its junction with Greenside Road, between the common boundaries of Nos. 50 and 52 and Nos. 61 and 63 Sutherland Road.

c) Greenside Road will be closed at its junction with Sutherland Road.

d) Parking bays within the above closure areas in Sutherland Road will be suspended, and waiting and loading restrictions will apply "at any time".

e) One-way working in Midhurst Avenue and Greenside Road will be suspended to allow two-way traffic.
