What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(A6 SOUTH RIBBLE WAY (ROUNDABOUT ENTRY), FARINGTON, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle, cycle, or pedestrian to proceed over that length of A6 South Ribble Way, Farington (Roundabout Entry Lane) from a point 230 metres south of its junction with A6 London Way for a distance of 230 metres.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily on weekdays only at 2100 hours to 0600 from Monday 26th February 2024 until Friday 1st March 2024 or until completion of the works within this period. Access to be maintained wherever and whenever possible.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by this closure is not available.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow highway maintenance works to be carried out.
