Hoyle's Lane And Sidgreaves Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(HOYLE'S LANE AND SIDGREAVES LANE, WOODPLUMPTON, PRESTON CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to proceed over that length of Hoyle's Lane and Sidgreaves Lane, Woodplumpton as follows: -
Hoyle's Lane – from its junction with Sidgreaves Lane travelling in an easterly direction to a point outside 148.
Sidgreaves Lane – at its junction with Hoyle's Lane travelling in either direction for approximately 20 metres.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0830 hours until 1800 hours on the following dates: -
Hoyle's Lane – 3rd March 2024 until 11th October 2024
Sidgreaves Lane – 3rd March 2024 until 22nd March 2024
or until completion of the works within this period. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via: -
Hoyle's Lane – Sandy Lane – William Young Way – Edith Rigby Way – Avice Pimblett Way – Sidgreaves Lane
Sidgreaves Lane North –– Buckthorn Drive – Redwood Drive - Applewood Road – Hoyle's Lane – Sandy Lane – William Young Way – Edith Rigby Way – Avice Pimblett Road – Sidgreaves Lane South
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow Bethell's on behalf of United Utilities to carry out sewer upgrade and manhole works.
