Wiltshire, Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Proposed Traffic Restriction Order.
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) C64 (Part), Wylye; for a distance of approximately 50m either side of the level crossing to enable Network Rail Infrastructure to carry out level crossing and associated works. Alternative route via C64 (unaffected length) - B3089 - C277 - C276 - A303 - C10 -C64 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 March 2024 and the closure will be required 24 hours a day from 15 March 2024 at 23:00 until 09:00 on 17 March 2024. B) A345 (Part), Amesbury and Durrington; from its roundabout junction with A303 to its roundabout junction with The Packway to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out toucan crossing and cycleway improvement. Alternative route via The Packway - B3086 - A303 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 11 March 2024 and the closure will be required for 3 days. C) A345 Castle Road (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Pauls Dene Road to its junction with Old Castle Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via A345 (unaffected length) - A303 - A338 - A30 - A36 - A345 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 March 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 28 March 2024. D) Pembroke Road (Eastern Crescent), Salisbury; for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurface and associate works. Alternative route via Pembroke Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 March 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 until 20 March 2024. E) Bedwin Street, Salisbury; from its junction with Bourne Hill to its junction with Scots Lane to enable Wessex Water to carry out water mains and associated works. Alternative route eastbound via Greencroft Street - Guilder Lane - Milford Street - Brown Street - St Ann Stret - St Johns Street - Catherine Street - New Canal - High Street - Silver Street - Minister Street - Castle Street - Scots Lane. Alternative route westbound via Castle Street - Blue Boar Row - Endless Street - Salt Lane - Greencroft Street. This Order will come into operation on 13 March 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:00 until 14 March 2024. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: F) Gravel Close (Part), Downton; from its junction with Long Close East to outside its property known as No.55 Gravel Close to enable Openreach to carry out telecommunication pole replacement and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 22 February 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

(WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to revoke The County of Wiltshire (B.3089, East Knoyle) (Weight Restriction) Order 1984 and
re-enact it in the above Order and to include the exemption of service for Winter Maintenance purposes. Deposit copies of the Orders, plans and Statement of the Council's Reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours. Details of the proposed scheme may be seen at Mere Library, Barton Lane BA12 6JA during the hours of 10am to 7pm Monday, 9.30am to 5pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10am to 2pm Wednesday and 9.30am to 1pm Saturday until 11 March 2024.
