Coventry - One Way Traffic Exemption Order

What is happening?

City Council Notices
The Orders proposed are:-
i) City of Coventry (Central Earlsdon) (One Way
Traffic) (Exemption) Order 2024
The effect of this proposal shall be to retain the
existing one way restriction on Moor Street,
Providence Street and Berkeley Road South,
but permit cycles to travel in any direction on
these roads
ii) City of Coventry (Warwick Street) (No Entry)
Order 2024
The effect of this proposal shall be to prohibit
vehicles, except cycles, from entering Warwick
Street at its junction with Arden Street
iii) City of Coventry (Stoneleigh Avenue) (No Entry)
Order 2024
The effect of this proposal shall be to prohibit
vehicles, except cycles, from entering
Stoneleigh Avenue at its junction with Kenilworth
Road.
iv) City of Coventry (Arden Street) (Prohibition of
Driving) Order 2024
The effect of this proposal shall be to prohibit
vehicles, except cycles, from travelling on
Arden Street between its junction with
Clarendon Street and a point opposite the
common boundary of Nos. 75 and 77 Arden
Street (a distance of approx. 2 m)
v) City of Coventry (Shaftesbury Road)
(Prohibition of Driving) Order 2024
The effect of this proposal shall be to prohibit
vehicles, except cycles, from travelling on
Shaftesbury Road between its junction with
Beechwood Avenue and a point 2m east of that
junction.
vi) City of Coventry (Earlsdon Area) (20mph
Zone) Order 2024
The effect of this proposal will be to restrict
vehicular traffic from travelling at speeds greater
than 20mph on the lengths of roads listed
below:

Broadway, Clarendon St, Dalton Rd, Davenport
Rd, Dorney Cl, Earlsdon St, Eastleigh Ave,
Hartington Cresc, Huntington Rd, Innis Rd,
Mayfield Rd, Mickleton Rd, Moor St,
Morningside, Myrtle Gr, Newcombe Rd,
Osborne Rd, Palmerston Rd, Pinewood Gr,
Poplar Rd, Providence St, Radcliffe Rd, Raven
Cragg Rd, Rochester Rd, Shaftesbury Rd,
Southleigh Ave, Spencer Ave, Spencer Rd, St
Andrew’s Rd, Stanley Rd, Stanway Rd,
Stoneleigh Ave, Styvechale Ave, The Firs, The
Riddings, Warwick Ave, Warwick St, Westleigh
Ave, Woodland Ave, Woodfield Rd
Part length of
Albany Road – From its junction with Earlsdon
Avenue North to a point 63m north of its junction
with Newcombe Road
Beechwood Avenue – From its junction with
Kenilworth Road to a point 62m west of its
junction with Hartington Crescent
Earlsdon Avenue North – From its junction with
Earlsdon Avenue South to a point 29m north of
its junction with Newcombe Road
Earlsdon Avenue South – From its junction with
Earlsdon Avenue North to a point 33m southeast
of its junction with The Firs
Nightingale Lane (eastern section) – From its
junction with Bates Road to its cul de sac end
(bridge)
vii) City of Coventry (Various Roads Earlsdon
Area) (Waiting Restriction) Order 2024
The effect of this proposal will be to add to, vary
or amend the waiting restrictions on certain
lengths of the following roads:
Albany Rd, Arden St, Bates Rd, Beechwood
Ave, Clarendon St Earlsdon Ave North, Earlsdon
Ave South, Earlsdon St, Hartington Cresc, Moor
St, Rochester Rd, Shaftesbury Rd, Stoneleigh
Ave, Warwick St, Woodland Ave.
The details of the changes proposed by this
order are contained in the Statement of Reasons
and the Map Tiles all of which are available on
the Council’s website (see link below).
A copy of this Notice, the draft Orders, plans and
Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the
Orders may be inspected on the Council’s website
at ‘www.coventry.gov.uk/tro’.

Any objections to the making of the Orders

state the grounds on which it is made and must be
forwarded by no later than 7th March 2024.
