A5 Trunk Road - Prohibition Of Traffic For Utility Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(A) AND (7)
THE A5 TRUNK ROAD (DORDON, WARWICKSHIRE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an order on the A5 Trunk Road, in the County of Warwickshire, to allow utility works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close-
(a) the eastbound carriageway of the A5 from its roundabout junction with Green Lane, Trinity Road, and the M42 slip roads (Tamworth Interchange), to its roundabout junction with Long Street and Gypsy Lane (Dordon Roundabout);
(b) the layby situated adjacent to the eastbound carriageway of the A5 approximately 360 metres east of the centrepoint of Tamworth Interchange; and
(c) any gap in the central reservation of the length of trunk road described in (a) above.
The work is expected to be carried out between 22:00 hours and 06:00 hours starting on Wednesday 28 February 2024 and continuing for one night only. The layby will be closed from 13:00 hours on Wednesday 28th February 2024. The Order will come into force on 21 February 2024.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closure and prohibition.
Diversion routes via the M42, the A444, the A5, the B5080 Pennie Way, the B5000 Glascote Road, Tamworth Road, Grendon Road and Spon Lane will be signed.
