WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS IN WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.17) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.

Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order.

The contractor will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 4th March 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 18 months and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. U5560 Green Gate, Troutbeck - Start Date 9th March 2024 - Approx. duration 5 days (Ref: TTROW/9593) From its junction with the A592 Patterdale Road, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 525m. Alternative Route: via the C5003 and A592 Patterdale Road.

2. C5050 Brow Edge Road, Backbarrow - Start Date 4th March 2024 - Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/9599) From its junction with the C5040, extending in an overall northerly direction for approx. 1.5km. Alternative Route: via the A590, B5278 and C5040.

3. Ash Street, Bowness on Windermere - Start Date 5th March 2024 - Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/9609) From its junction with the A592, extending in a southerly direction for approx 85m. Alternative Route: via St Martins Place and A592.

4. St Martins Parade, Bowness on Windermere - Start Date 11th March 2024 - Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/9620) From its junction with the A5074 Kendal Road, extending in a north westerly direction for approx 40m. Alternative Route: via the A592 and A5074 Kendal Road.

5. U5771 Smithy Lane, Bowness on Windermere - Start Date 11th March 2024 - Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/9622) From its junction with A592, extending in a north easterly then south easterly direction for approx 365m. Alternative Route: via the A592, B5285 Longtail Hill and A5074 Kendal Road.

6. Green Lane, Flookburgh - Start Date 7th March 2024 - Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/9644) From its junction with the B5277 Market Street, extending in a north easterly direction for approx 780m. Alternative Route: via the B5277 Market Street, B5278 Station Road, C5041 and U5165.

7. C5040, U5183 and C5053 Field Broughton - Start Date 18th March 2024 - Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/9701)

(i) C5040 from its junction with the U5197, extending in a south easterly direction for approx 1.2km.

(ii) U5183 from its junction with the C5041, extending in a south westerly direction for approx 200m.

(iii) C5053 from its junction with the C5041, extending in a north westerly direction for approx 250m. Alternative Route: via the C5041, A590 and U5197.

8. U5165 Cark in Cartmel - Start Date 17th March 2024 - Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/9758) From its junction with the U5164 Green Lane, extending in a north westerly direction for approx 400m. Alternative Route: via the C5041, B5278, B5277 Market Street and U5164 Green Lane.

9. C5045 Winder Lane, Ravenstown - Start Date 23rd March 2024 - Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/9762) From its junction with Jutland Avenue, extending in a southerly direction for approx 900m. There is no suitable alternative route for vehicles.

10. U5161 Sunny Bank Cark - Start Date 29th March 2024 - Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/9761) From its junction with the B5278, extending in a south westerly direction for approx 125m. Alternative Route: via the U5576 and B5278.

11. U5165 Boarbank Lane, Allithwaite - Start Date 13th March 2024 - Approx. duration 4 days (Ref: TTROW/9730) From its junction with Locker Lane, extending in an overall westerly direction for approx 1.3km. Alternative Route: via the U5166 Locker Lane, B5277 Allithwaite Lane & Market Street and U5164 Green Lane.
