B6341 NEW MOOR TO ALNWICK, ALNWICK
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to introduce a road closure and a speed restriction on the B6341 New Moor To Alnwick in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 4th March 2024 until the 4th September 2024.
Road closure
A road closure will be in place on the B6341 New Moor To Alnwick 1287 metres from the A697 in a north easterly direction continuing on for a further 90 metres in the County of Northumberland.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 4th March 2024 until the 4th April 2024 between 08:00 hours and 18:00 hours during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 4th September 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B6341, C90, A697 and vice-versa
Speed restriction:
A speed restriction will further be in operation which will restrict the speed of all vehicular traffic from 60mph down to 40mph on the B6341 New Moor To Alnwick 1287 metres from the A697 in a north easterly direction continuing on for a further 90 metres in the County of Northumberland.
It is expected that the speed restriction will be in force when the road is reopened and will remain in force for the duration of the whole works.

The road closure and speed restriction have been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out bridge works which are required to stabilise a landslip. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
