Hertfordshire, Hemel Hempstead - Temporary Road Closures and Restrictions.
What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN GREAT GADDESDEN AND HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads
(“the Roads”):-
1. that length of Dodds Lane, Great Gaddesden from its junction with Cupid Green Lane south westwards, north westwards, south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Piccotts End Road, a distance of approximately 2320m.
An alternative route will be via Cupid Green Lane, Gaddesden Row, Red Lion Lane, B440 Leighton Buzzard Road and Piccotts End Road.
2. that length of Cupid Green Lane, Hemel Hempstead/Great Gaddesden from its junction with St Agnells Lane north eastwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Dodds Lane, a distance of approximately 790m.
An alternative route will be via St Agnells Lane, A4147 Link Road, B440 Leighton Buzzard Road, Piccotts End Road and Dodds Lane.
3. that length of Cupid Green Lane, Great Gaddesden from its junction with Dodds Lane north westwards, north eastwards, north westwards, south westwards, north westwards, north eastwards, north westwards, north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Gaddesden Row, a distance of approximately 1611m.
An alternative route will be via Dodds Lane, Piccotts End Road, B440 Leighton Buzzard Road, Red Lion Lane and Gaddesden Row.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 4 March 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN THE A41 EASTBOUND
SLIP ROAD LEADING ONTO THE A4251 LONDON ROAD ROUNDABOUT, KINGS LANGLEY) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the A4251 London Road roundabout, Kings Langley from its junction with the eastbound carriageway of A41 (unnamed road) north eastwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with the A4251 London Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 234m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A41 (unnamed road/Two Waters Way), A414 Two Waters Road, A4146 Station Road and A4251 London Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 4 March 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER NO.2 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Half Moon Meadow, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Hunters Oak north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 163m.
An alternative route will be via Hunters Oak, The Melings and B487 Redbourn Road.
2. that length of Hunters Oak, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Birch Leys south westwards to its junction with Crackley Meadow, a distance of approximately 255m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
3. that length of Knightsbridge Way, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Towers Road southwards and south westwards for its entire length.
An alternative route will be via Towers Road, Springfield Road and Commons Lane.
4. that length of Manley Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Knightsbridge Way north eastwards to its junction with Springfield Road, a distance of approximately 55m.
An alternative route will be via Knightsbridge Way, Towers Road and Springfield Road.
5. that length of Commons Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Knightsbridge Way south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Springfield Road, a distance of approximately 119m.
An alternative route will be via Knightsbridge Way, Towers Road and Springfield Road.
6. that length of Long Arrotts, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Hilldown Road north westwards and south westwards for its entire length.
An alternative route will be via Hilldown Road, Gadebridge Road and Feacey Down.
7. that length of Hilldown Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Long Arrotts north westwards to a point in line with the northern boundary of No.45 Hilldown Road, a distance of approximately 104m.
An alternative route will be via Long Arrotts, Feacey Down, Gadebridge Road and Hilldown Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 4 March 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LOCKERS PARK LANE, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Lockers Park Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Bury Hill north westwards for a distance of approximately 27m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Bury Hill, Lockers Park Lane, Glenview Road, Woodland Avenue, Gravel Hill Terrace, Ashtree Way, Northridge Way, Warners End Road and Lockers Park Lane.
The Order is needed because water service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 4 March 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B4505 CHESHAM ROAD, BOVINGDON) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B4505 Chesham Road, Bovingdon from its junction with Hyde Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 37m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B4505 (Chesham Road/Rushmere Lane/Orchard Leigh/Lye Green Road/
Eskdale Avenue), A416 (Broad Street/Berkhampstead Road/Nashleigh Hill/Ashley Green Road/ Chesham Road/Kingshill Way/Kings Road), A4251 (High Street/London Road) and B4505 (Box Lane/ Hempstead Road/Chesham Road).
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 19 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
