What is happening?

BRIGHTON & HOVE CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council ('the Council') has on 7th February 2024 made the Orders named below under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when they come into operation on 15th February 2024 will make permanent the following changes:-

BRIGHTON & HOVE (PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES) (SCHOOLS STREETS) ORDER 2021 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.4 2024 (TRO-26A-2022)

    • Prohibition of Motor Vehicles Monday to Friday 8.15am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 3.45pm -Term Time Only except for access in Freshfield Place (from Park Street to Freshfield Road) to encourage active and sustainable travel.

BRIGHTON & HOVE VARIOUS CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2018 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.6 2024 (TRO-26B-2022)

    • A reduction of the shared permit and paid parking bays either side of the footway extension.

The changes described above were originally the subject of an experimental Traffic Order that was advertised on 22nd July 2022; Brighton & Hove (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) (Freshfield Place) Experimental Order 2022 (TRO-26-2022). A copy of this Notice, the Orders as made and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Orders may be seen online at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/current-tros.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of these Orders or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirements of the Act or of any instrument made under it have not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which these Orders were made, apply to the High Court for that purpose.
