What is happening?

ROADSIDE, CUMBERNAULD (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
On 5 February 2024 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on traffic calming installation works) on the undernoted roads by reason of works being executed on or near those locations.
Road Closures
Roadside, Cumbernauld from Dullatur Roundabout to A8011 Wilderness Brae. Slip Road 1 to Roadside from A8011 Wilderness Brae (Southbound) to Roadside.
Slip Road 2 to Roadside from A8011 Wilderness Brae (Northbound) to Roadside.
Alternative routes: Vehicles on A8011 Wilderness Brae southbound will be diverted via A8011 Wilderness Brae, Braehead Roundabout, A8011 Wilderness Brae, Old Inns Roundabout, Eastfield Road, Dullatur Road and Roadside.
Vehicles on A8011 Wilderness Brae northbound will be diverted via A8011 Wilderness Brae, Old Inns Roundabout, Eastfield Road, Dullatur Road and Roadside.
Vehicles on Dullatur Road Roundabout will be diverted via Roadside, Baronhill, Main Street and A8011 Wilderness Brae.
NB – Works are being completed in 4 phases to allow vehicular access to the adjacent properties on Roadside, The Wynd (7.5t weight limit), Smithyends and Rigghead Avenue. This will be from one side of the closure and sign posted as the installation progresses.
Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.
The Order, will come into operation at 0600 hours on Monday, 19 February 2024 and will remain in operation until 1800 hours on Friday, 8 March 2024.
