(Temporary Closure) Order 2024

Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Romford Street Hindley Green Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Romford Street Hindley Green Wigan adjacent to 66 Chapel Green Road during the period of 08:00 to 16:00 on 25/04/2024.

There is no alternative route available.

The Order is necessary to allow maintenance work in the water chamber.

(Hall Lane Hindley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Hall Lane Hindley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Hall Lane Hindley commencing on 02/04/2024 to 04/04/2024.

The alternative route for traffic is: B5239 Bolton Road, B5239 Dicconson Lane, A6 Chorley Road, B5236 Church Street, A58 Wigan Road, A58 Castle Hill Road and A58 Bridge Street.

The Order is necessary to allow a new electric connection.

Millcroft Avenue, Orrell – Prohibition of Waiting Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Wigan Roads No. 2) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No. 134) Order 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to revoke no waiting at any time on:

•  Millcroft Avenue, Orrell (Both Sides) from its junction with St James’ Road to a distance of 8 metres in a westerly direction.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:

•  Millcroft Avenue, Orrell (Both Sides) from its junction with St James’ Road to a point 10 metres west of its junction with St James’ Road. There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait to enable people to board or alight; for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes, if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident.

The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.

A copy of the proposed Order, the Order to be amended, and of the relevant map and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be requested by emailing D.Birchall@wigan.gov.uk.

(Ince Green Lane Ince in Makerfield)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2024

Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Ince Green Lane Ince in Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Ince Green Lane Ince in Makerfield at the Railway Bridge commencing on 22/04/2024 to 27/11/2024.

The alternative route for traffic is: Warrington Road, Warrington Lane, Darlington Street East and Manchester Road.

The Order is necessary to allow a full bridge reconstruction.

Chestnut Road Wigan – Prohibition of Waiting Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.580) Order 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:

•  Chestnut Road Wigan – north side from a point 10 metres east of its junction with Rosemary Crescent to a point 45 metres east of its junction with Rosemary Crescent.

•  Chestnut Road Wigan – both sides from a point 5 metres south of the gable end of No 143 to a point 20 metres south of the gable end of No 143.

There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait to enable people to board or alight; for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes, if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident.

The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.

(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Arundel Street Hindley Green Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Arundel Street Hindley Green Wigan adjacent to house number 23 during the period of 08:00 to 16:00 on 25/04/2024.

Access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles.

The Order is necessary to allow maintenance work in the water chamber.

The Wigan Borough (Off Street Parking Places)

(Loire Drive, Douglas) Order 2024

Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Sections 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Off Street Parking Places) (Loire Drive, Douglas) Order 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to:

•  Introduce a car park to the rear of Robin Park Arena, off Loire Drive, Wigan. It will be available for public use any day and at any time. The Charging Hours will be between 7:00 - 23:59 daily with charges of £2.00 for under 1 hour stay, £4.00 for up to 2 hours stay and £6.00 for over 2 hours stay (Maximum stay up to 24 hours per day per paid charge).

A copy of the proposed Order and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at the Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, between 9.00am and 4.30pm on any day from Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays), or by post, or by emailing d.birchall@wigan.gov.uk.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No. 579) Order 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:

•  Car Park Access Road, Aspull (South Side) from its junction with Oakfield Crescent for its entire length.

The effects of the Order will be to introduce limited waiting on the following roads at the following times on any day:

•  Car Park Access Road, Aspull (North Side) from a point 6 metres south of its junction with Oakfield Crescent to its junction with Aspull Car Park with waiting limited to 120 minutes and a return time prohibited within 240 minutes on Monday - Sunday  (8:00am - 6:00pm).

•  Aspull Car Park, Aspull (Both Sides) for its entire length with waiting limited to 120 minutes and a return time prohibited within 240 minutes on Monday - Sunday (8:00am - 6:00pm).

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a doctors’ parking space on the following roads at the following times and on the specified days:

•  Aspull Car Park, Aspull (Both Sides) as marked on Monday - Friday (8:00am - 6:00pm).

There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait to enable people to board or alight; for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes; if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Bolton Road, Ashton in Makerfield outside house number 26) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Bolton Road, Ashton in Makerfield outside house number 26 during the period of 19:00 until 22:00 commencing on 11/03/2024.

The alternative route for traffic is: A49 Wigan Road – B5207 Bryn

Road – B5207 Bryn Road South
