What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BILLINGTON ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Billington Road, Leighton Buzzard outside number 31.

This temporary closure is required to enable mains connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 4 to 8 March 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Billington Road, Grovebury Road, A4146 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 4 March 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WOBURN ROAD, HEATH AND REACH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Woburn Road, Heath and Reach between Birds Hill and A5.

This temporary closure is required to enable footway improvements and speed limit works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 21 March 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Birds Hill, Leighton Road, Eastern Way, Watling Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 3 March 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(KINGSWAY, STANBRIDGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Kingsway, Stanbridge outside Kingsway Cottage.

This temporary closure is required to enable gas connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 23 February 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure. Access to be maintained for residents.

The Order will come into operation on 19 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (STOKE HAMMOND AND LINSLADE BYPASS, LEIGHTON BUZZARD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Stoke Hammond and Linslade Bypass, Leighton Buzzard between the County Boundary and Wing Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable lining works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 24 February 2024 between the hours of 8pm and 6am. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A4146, A505, A5, A4146 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 19 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 333

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (EGGINGTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO 6) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2020 (VARIATION) ORDER 2023

On 9 February 2024 the Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 333 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to vary the Central Bedfordshire Council (Eggington: Part of Footpath No 6) Public Path Diversion Order 2020 - hereafter the 2020 Order - by replacing the 2020 Order route with a footpath on a slightly different alignment that utilises the surfaced sections of path as set out by the developers, as shown between points A-C-D-E-F-G-H-B on the map attached to this Order.

The length of Eggington Footpath No 6 to be diverted extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9452 2538 in a generally westerly direction for approximately 518 metres to OS GR SP 9401 2534. The footpath is stopped up across the whole of the existing width.

The alternative highway to be provided and known as Eggington Footpath No 6 extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9452 2538 in a westerly direction for approximately 11 metres to OS GR SP 9452 2538, it then continues north-westerly for approximately 121 metres to (OS GR) SP 9446 2548 where it continues west south westerly for approximately 9 metres across Fraserfields Way to (OS GR) SP 9444 2548. It continues in a west south westerly direction for approximately 253 metres to (OS GR) SP 9420 2541 and then continues south westerly for approximately 12 metres, across Ramsay Drive, to (OS GR) SP 9419 2540, it then follows the footway around the substation and heads southerly for 16 metres to (OS GR) SP 9419 2538. It continues in a south westerly direction for approximately 217 metres to (OS GR) SP 9401 2534. The new footpath has a width of 3 metres.

This Order comes into force on 9 February 2024, but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act.

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

NOTICE OF MAKING OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (EGGINGTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO.1 AND LEIGHTON BUZZARD: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 64) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2023

On the 9 February 2024 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert parts of Leighton Buzzard Footpath No 64 and Eggington Footpath No 1 from a line between points A-B-C-D and D-E respectively to a line between points A-F-G-H-J-E as shown on the Order map.

The length of Footpath No 64, Leighton Buzzard to be stopped up extends from its junction with Footpath No 1, Eggington Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9431 2468 in a southerly direction for approximately 8 metres to OS GR SP 9431 2467. The footpath is stopped up across its full width.

The length of Footpath No 1, Eggington to be stopped up extends from OS GR SP 9461 2475 in a westerly direction for approximately 225 metres to OS GR SP 9439 2476 and then in a southerly direction for approximately 94 metres to OS GR SP 9439 2467 and then continues in a west north westerly direction for approximately 74 metres to OS GR SP 9431 2468. The footpath is stopped up across its full width.

The length of Footpath No 9, Stanbridge to be created extends from its junction with Footpath No 1, Eggington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9440 2466 in a generally southerly direction along the western footway of Fraserfields Way for approximately 14 metres to OS GR SP 9440 2465 and then continues in a generally westerly direction between a drain to the north and a balancing pond to the south for approximately 91 metres to OS GR SP 9431 2467 where it has a junction with Footpath No 64, Leighton Buzzard. The new route of the footpath has a width of 2 metres.

The length of Footpath No 1, Eggington to be created extends from OS GR SP 9461 2475 in a generally westerly direction for approximately 190 metres to OS GR SP 9443 2475 and then continues north westerly and westerly for approximately 32 metres to OS GR SP 9440 2476. It then continues in a southerly direction along the western footway of Fraserfields Way for approximately 97 metres to OS GR SP 9440 2466 where it has a junction with Footpath No 9, Stanbridge. The new route of the footpath has a width of 2 metres.

The public’s use of Stanbridge Footpath No. 9 to be created between OS GR SP 9431 2467 and OS GR SP 9440 2465 is subject to interference caused by the Buckingham & River Ouzel Internal Drainage Board in undertaking its drainage works.

The new route in the Order comes into force on 16 February 2024 and the existing route will be stopped up on the date on which Central Bedfordshire Council certify that the public footpath described in Article 2 of the Order has been set out to their satisfaction but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 13 February 2024 make an application to the High Court.
