Dover, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 DOVER AREA

A256 BUCKLAND AVENUE, BROOKFIELD AVENUE & LORNE ROAD, DOVER, CT16 2NR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PROHIBITION OF PARKING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily restrict through traffic on part of A256 Buckland Avenue, Brookfield Avenue & Lorne Road, Dover, on or after 4th March 2024 for up to 61 days or until the works have been completed.

A256 Buckland Avenue will be closed between the junctions of Brookfield Avenue and Lorne Road, from 2nd April 2024, with estimated completion by 3rd May 2024. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 Crabble Hill, A256 London Road, A256 Whitfield Hill, A2 between Whitfield Roundabout and junction with A256, A2 between junction with A256 and Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A2 Jubilee Way, A20 Townwall Street, A256 York Street, A256 Priory Road, A256 High Street, A256 London Road and Cherry Tree Avenue.

Parking on A256 Buckland Avenue, will be suspended between the junctions of Brookfield Avenue and Lorne Road, from 4th March 2024, with estimated completion by 3rd May 2024. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order for Lorne Road, will be suspended to allow access, from 15th April 2024, with estimated completion by 3rd May 2024. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Brookfield Avenue will be closed at the junction of A256 Buckland Avenue, from 2nd April 2024, with estimated completion by 26th April 2024. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

BRIDGE HILL, HACKLINGE, CT14 0AS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bridge Hill, Hacklinge, on or after 21st February 2024 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Rorkes Drift Farm, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bridge Hill, Burgess Green, A258 Sandwich Road and vice versa.

SANDWICH ROAD, WHITFIELD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandwich Road, Whitfield, on or after 21st February 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with A256 Whitfield Bypass, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via A256 Whitfield Bypass, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C227 Kennel Hill To C237 Venson Road, A256 Whitfield Bypass, A256 Link Between Whitfield Interchange Roundabouts, A256 Whitfield Interchange Southern Roundabout, A2 Dover Road Slip Westbound On, A2 Between Whitfield Roundabout And Junction With A256 and Sandwich Road.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Sandwich Road, A2 Between Whitfield Roundabout And Junction With A256, A2 Dover Road Slip Eastbound Off and A256 Whitfield Bypass.

SAUNDERS LANE, ASH, CT3 2BX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Saunders Lane, Ash, on or after 19th February 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Sandwich Road and New Street. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Saunders Lane, Sandwich Road, New Street and vice versa.

SOMERSET ROAD, WALMER, CT14 7TQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Somerset Road, Walmer, on or after 4th March 2024 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Somerset Road, Downs Road, B2056 Cornwall Road, Telegraph Road and vice versa.

STOURMOUTH ROAD, PRESTON (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stourmouth Road, Preston, on or after 19th February 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Mellands Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stourmouth Road, Preston Road, The Street, Plucks Gutter, Gore Street, A253 Ramsgate Road, A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Island Road, A28 Staines Hill, A28 Mill Road, A28 Sturry Road, A28 Tourtel Road, A28 Military Road, A28 Broad Street, A28 Lower Bridge Street, A28 St Georges Roundabout, A257 St Georges Place, A257 Lower Chantry Lane, A257 Longport, A257 St Martin’s Hill, A257 Littlebourne Road, A257 Canterbury Road, A257 The Hill, A257 High Street, A257 Wingham Road, A257 Canterbury Road, A257 High Street, Preston Hill, Preston Road, Preston Lane, The Street and vice versa.

THE BUTCHERY, SANDWICH, CT13 9AB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Butchery, Sandwich, on or after 21st February 2024 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Potter Street and Harnet Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Market Street, Delf Street, No Name Street, Cattle Market and Harnet Street.

WHITE HILL, EAST LANGDON (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of White Hill, East Langdon, on or after 7th March 2024 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Guston Road, East Langdon Road, The Street, The Lane, A258 Deal Road, Solton Lane and vice versa.

WINGHAM WELL LANE, WINGHAM WELL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wingham Well Lane, Wingham Well, on or after 5th March 2024 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Snakes Hill and B2046 Adisham Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2046 Adisham Road, B2046 High Street, A257 Canterbury Road, Wingham Well Lane and vice versa.
