What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (GILMORE STREET, CALE GREEN) (TEMPORARY ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffc Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffc (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary southbound road closure at Gilmore Street from the junction of Shaw Heath to the junction of Randolph Place whilst traffc signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary for a safe working environment whilst a road crossing is completed for electrical works. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 5 days. Alternative routes will be provided via:- Shaw Heath, Adswood Lane West, Adswood Road and Range Road. This Order is to come into operation on the 23 February 2024 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
