(MILLTOWN FOOTBRIDGE FOOTPATH NO 8, RADCLIFFE)
CONVERSION ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council proposes to make the above named Order under the Cycle Tracks Act of 1984 The effect of the order is to convert the existing footpath which links Milltown Street to Rectory Lane over Milltown Bridge in Radcliffe in to a 3.5m wide cycle track (approx. 225m in length). The route would be available to be used by both pedestrians and cyclists in a shared form.
Description of footpath to be converted to 3.5m wide cycle track - Part 1 A public right of way on foot commencing from the easterly end of Milltown Street in Radcliffe and proceeding in a northerly direction over Milltown Bridge to Rectory Lane in Radcliffe which is approximately 225m in length.
Description of 3.5m cycle track converted from footpath - Part 2 A public right of way on pedal cycles (other than pedal cycles which are motor vehicles within the meaning of the Road Traffic Act of 1988) and with a right of way on foot commencing from the easterly end of Milltown Street in Radcliffe and proceeding in a northerly direction over Milltown Bridge to Rectory Lane in Radcliffe which is approximately 225m in length.
A copy of the draft Cycle Track Order, plans showing the roads and areas and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order and introducing the proposals may be requested by email at transportation@bury.gov.uk quoting reference TR37/6 or they will be on deposit at the Town Hall, Knowsley St Bury from 9am - 4:30pm Mon - Fri.
All representations whether in support or objecting to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made must be made in writing and sent to the Head of Engineering, 3 Knowsley Place, Duke Street, Bury BL9 0EJ or preferably by email to TROobjections@bury.gov.uk quoting ref: TR37/6 by 29th February 2024. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.

ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council proposes to make the above named Order under sections 1,2,4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers.
The effect of the Order will be the introduction of a Red Route on A56 Walmersley Rd and various roads: the introduction of a Loading bay on the A56 Walmersley Road on the easterly side and a Limited Waiting 30 Mins No Return Within 1 Hour on the north side of Fox Street and south side of Badger St.
Introduction of Red Route
A56 Walmersley Rd Bury from Moorgate signalised junction to a point 18m north of the northerly kerbline of Birch Street.
Fox Street from its junction with A56 Walmersley Rd for 20m in a westerly direction Badger Street from its junction with A56 Walmersley Rd for a distance of 5m in an easterly direction.
Buckley Street Bury from its junction with A56 Walmersley Rd for a distance of 4m in a westerly direction.
Topping Street from its junction with A56 Walmersley Rd for a distance of 4m in an easterly direction.
Washington Court from its junction with A56 Walmersley Rd for a distance of 6m in a westerly direction.
Birch Street from its junction with A56 Walmersley Rd for a distance of 15m in a westerly direction.
Loading Bay - Mon-Sun, 9:30am-4pm and Loading Bay - Mon-Sun, 6:30pm-Midnight (15 mins max)
A56 Walmersley Rd (easterly side) Bury from a point 65m north of the northerly kerbline of Moorside for a distance of 20m in a northerly direction.
Limited Waiting, Mon-Sun, 9am-Midnight, 30 Mins; No return within 1 hour
Fox St (north side) - from a point 23m west of A56 Walmersley Rd for a distance of 19m in a westerly direction.
Badger St (south side) - from a point 21m east of A56 Walmersley Rd for a distance of 20m in an easterly direction.
The Council also intends to revoke several orders or parts thereof within this proposed order.
