(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF 'MOSS BURY PRIMARY SCHOOL AND NURSERY,' STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the north side of 'Moss Bury Primary School and Nursery', Stevenage from its junction with the cycle track situated on the west side of A1155 Fairlands Way north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 531m ("Cycle Track"). An alternative route will be via the cycle track situated on the west and north sides of A1155 Fairlands Way, the cycle track situated on the east side of Grace Way, the cycle track situated to the rear of Nos.417-479 Vardon Road and the cycle track leading to 'Hampson Park Community Centre'. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 February 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CODICOTE ROAD, WHITWELL AND ST PAULS WALDEN PUBLIC BYWAY OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC NO.037 (NORTONSTREET LANE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Codicote Road, Whitwell from its junction with B651 Hitchin Road south eastwards to its junction with St Pauls Walden Public Byway Open to All Traffic No.037 (Nortonstreet Lane), a distance of approximately 311m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B651 (Hitchin Road/Whitwell Road), B656 (London Road/Hitchin Road), Whitwell Road and Codicote Road.
2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using St Pauls Walden Public Byway Open to All Traffic No.037 (Nortonstreet Lane) from its junction with Codicote Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 145m ("the Byway Open to All Traffic").
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties along this Byway Open to All Traffic will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because electrical service works are proposed to be executed near the Road and Byway Open to All Traffic. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 February 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Byway Open to All Traffic. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF DAMASK GREEN ROAD, WESTON) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Damask Green Road, Weston from its junction with Warrens Green Lane north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Rowan Close, a distance of approximately 1698m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via Weston Road, Calder Way, Orwell Avenue, Great Ashby Way, Canterbury Way, A1072 Martins Way, A1155 Verity Way, B1037 (Fairlands Way/Stevenage Road/High Street/White Hill), C14 (unnamed road), Halls Green, Maiden Street and Damask Green Road. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED ON THE SOUTH WEST SIDE OF A602 HITCHIN ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the south west side of A602 Hitchin Road, Stevenage from a point 314m south east of its junction with Ingleside Drive south eastwards for a distance of approximately 43m ("the Cycle Track").
Pedal Cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 February 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track. (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") will be:-1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of Roads, except for access:-
a) that length of Gresley Way, Stevenage from its junction with Lanterns Lane north eastwards and northwards to its junction with Chalkdown, a distance of approximately 450m.
An alternative route will be via Gresley Way, Six Hills Way, A1155 (St Georges Way/Fairlands Way), B1037 Fairlands Way and Gresley Way.
b) that length of The White Way, Stevenage from its junction with Beane Avenue eastwards to its junction with Gresley Way, a distance of approximately 50m.
An alternative route will be via The White Way, B1037 Fairlands Way and Gresley Way.
2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a right turn manoeuvre from Lanterns Lane into Gresley Way, Stevenage, whilst signs are in place. An alternative route will be via Gresley Way, Six Hills Way, A1155 (St Georges Way/Fairlands Way), B1037 Fairlands Way and Gresley Way. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 12 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BACK LANE, PRESTON) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Back Lane, Preston from its junction with Parsonage Lane north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Frogmore Bottom Road, a distance of approximately 562m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Parsonage Lane, Church Road, Lilley Bottom Road, B651 (High Street/Hitchin Road/Whitwell Road), B656 London Road, Gosmore Road, Hitchin Road, High Street, Preston Road, Hitchin Road, School Lane and Church Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made shall come into force on 12 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN ARLESEY ROAD, ICKLEFORD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Arlesey Road, Ickleford from its junction with Turnpike Lane north eastwards to its junction with Icknield Close, a distance of approximately 139m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via Turnpike Lane, A600 Bedford Road, A505 (Fishponds Road/Bunyan Road/Nightingale Road/Cambridge Road), Stotfold Road, Wilbury Hills Road, Arlesey New Road and Arlesey Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 12 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. THE HERTFORDSHIRE (BENSLOW LANE, HITCHIN) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce waiting restrictions on parts of Hitchin as specified in the Schedule to this Notice. The Order will come into effect on Friday 1 March 2024.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (HITCHIN ROAD AND HOLWELL ROAD, PIRTON) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024 ROAD HUMPS NOTICE (PRIORS HILL, HITCHIN ROAD AND WEST LANE, PIRTON) 2024
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new speed limit restrictions on-parts of Pirton as specified in Schedules 1 and 2 to this Notice.
It is also proposed under sections 90A - 90F of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999, to install flat topped road humps and speed cushions in those lengths of Priors Hill, Hitchin Road and West Lane, Pirton as specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice. from a point 4 metres north east of a point in line with the boundary between 9 and 11 West Lane south westwards for 8.5 metres. from a point 3 metres east of a point in line with the projected east kerbline of Little Lane eastwards for 8.5 metres.
from a point 8 metres north eastwards of a point in line with the projected north east kerbline of Davis Crescent north eastwards for 8.5 metres. from a point 3 metres north east of a point in line with the projected north east kerbline of Burge End Lane north eastwards for 8.5 metres. from a point 5 metres west of a point in line with the projected west kerbline of West End Farm westwards for 8.5 metres. West Lane - centred on a point 11.5 metres west of a point in line with the projected west kerbline of Royal Oak Lane.
Priors Hill (a) centred on a point 17.5 metres north west of a point in line with the projected north west kerbline of Danefield Road.
(b) centred on a point 5.5 metres south east of a point in line with the boundary between 10 and 12 Priors Hill.
Hitchin Road - centred on a point 3 metres south east of a point in line with the boundary between 3 and 5 Hitchin Road.
The speed cushions to be laid in pairs will be constructed and lit in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 at a height of approximately 65mm above the existing carriageway with on/off gradients of approximately 1:8 and side gradients of approximately 1:5.
