What is happening?

West Sussex County Council

(Worthing: Goring Street) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Goring Street in Worthing, from its junction with the A259 Goring Overbridge, southwards to its junction with Goring Way.

The road closure is needed to maintain safety while highway improvement works acre carried out.

The Order will come into effect on 10 February 2024 and remain in force until 18 February 2024. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Worthing: Goldsmith Road) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Goldsmith Road in Worthing, from its junction with Beaumont Road eastwards for 70m.

The road closure is needed to allow a collapsed sewer to be repaired in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 12 February 2024 and remain in force until 23 February 2024. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Consolidation) Order 2007)

(Controlled Parking Zone Amendment) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council has recently made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to enact recently installed minor amendments to parking restrictions on the following roads in Worthing:

Ambrose Place, Ann Street, Augusta Place, Buckingham Road, Chandos Road, Chatsworth Road, Church Walk, Cranworth

Road, Crescent Road, Graham Road, Ham Way, Heene Road,

Homefield Road, Howard Street, Liverpool Road, London Street,

Lyndhurst Road, Mansfield Road, Marine Parade, Meadow

Road, Merton Terrace, Montague Street, Queens Road, Selden Road, St Mathews Road, Steyne Gardens, Surry Street, The Steyne, Thorn Road, Westbourne Avenue.

The amendments enact changes to restrictions such as the removal of parking bays provided for disabled residents who no longer require them, the provision of additional bays for disabled persons’ blue badge holders in Worthing town centre and adjustments to the lengths of existing restrictions needed to accommodate new vehicle crossovers or improve access at junctions.

A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 12 February 2024, together with plans showing the affected lengths of road may be viewed on the West Sussex County Council website. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the West Sussex County Council Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of this Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may

within 6 weeks from 8 February 2024, apply to the High Court for this purpose.                     Ref: WOR8018-MM.
