What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles from proceeding on Rear Hazelwood Avenue / Tavistock Road from 35 metres west of its junction with Rear St George’s Terrace, westwards, for 20 metres.
2. Appropriate traffic management will be in place during the closure.
3. The Order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the works and where possible for police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles on emergency call.
5. The Order will come into operation on 26 February 2024 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, for one week or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
