Permanently extend the age range of Hatherley Infant School from 4-7 to 2-7 years from 1st April 2024

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 and the School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013 that Gloucestershire County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Hatherley Infant School, Hatherley Road, Gloucester, GL1 4PW from 1st April 2024.

The proposal seeks approval to permanently extend the age range of Hatherley Infant School from 4-7 to 2-7 years from 1st April 2024.

The current capacity at the school is 180 and the PAN is 60. The current number of pupils registered at the school is 154.

Explanatory notes
1. DfE have requested that we undertake a statutory process to extend the age range at Hatherley Infant School from 4-7 to 2-7 years. This will allow the school and Nursery to join the approved multiacademy trust.

2. The Headteacher, Governors and DfE are supportive of the proposed extend the age range.

3. The change in age range itself is not likely to have an adverse effect on any staff or pupils.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH GNE217 (NEWENT TOWN) STROUD DISTRICT

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has further extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath GNE/217 from a point on Southend Lane and running in a generally northerly direction for a total distance of approximately 250 metres to a point south of Foley Road.

The said footpaths fall within the Town of Newent within the Forest of Dean District in the County of Gloucestershire.

The closure is necessary due to a new development being constructed on land that the footpath currently runs through.

This Public Footpath temporary closure Order came into force on the 20th August 2020, and was subsequently extended until the 1st March 2024.

However, the works have still not been completed and the Secretary of State has granted a further extension until 1st September 2024 or until the works are complete, whichever is earliest.

The Planning Committee considered this application on 26th January 2023 and resolved to Refuse the application, a decision notice was issued on the 30th January 2023. Gloucestershire County Council (‘the Council’) hereby gives notice that on the 19th January 2024 they received notification of the Planning Inspectorate’s decision to approve planning permission (allow the appeal) for the above development, which is development requiring an Environmental Impact Assessment for the purposes of the above Regulations.

The reason for the closures is for carriageway maintenance and repair works.

There will be no waiting permitted throughout the duration of the works.

The said roads are expected to be closed on a rolling programme commencing 20:00hrs on 17th February 2024, where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the closures are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the closures taking effect. This Order will permit the closure of the roads in any order, or simultaneously as required and it is anticipated all works will be completed by 05:00hrs on 16th March 2024.
