NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency,from proceeding along the length of Dean Street Bedford junction with Newnham Avenue.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate carriageway repairs and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 18:00 hours from 20th February 2024 to 22nd February 2024

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Newnham Avenue, Goldington Road, Dean Street.

The reverse route applies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the length of Greyfriars Bedford outside QD.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate a sewer repair and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 19th February 2024 to 1st March 2024

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Midland Road, Ashburnham Road, Bromham Road, Hassett Street.

The reverse route applies.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate carriageway surfacing and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Chadwell End Pertenhall.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSE TO INTRODUCE NEW PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN DUNHAM CLOSE, BEDFORD

Reason for Proposal:

Bedford Borough Council has received an application from a developer to provide some parking bays as part of a Section 278 agreement with Bedford Borough Council. The planning conditions also require the provision of double yellow lines around the existing turning head.

Effect of the Order:

1. To introduce a ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction (double yellow lines) on the following length of road:

A  Dunham Close, Bedford

(i)   Around the turning head, extending from a point on its north-western kerb, approx. 37 metres south-west of the south-western side of the north-eastern arm of Dunham Close, in an anti-clockwise direction to a point approx. 51 metres south-west of the south-western side of the north-eastern arm of Dunham Close.

Relevant proposal documents, including plans, are available for viewing on the council’s website at www.bedford.gov.uk/proposedtro. The documents will be placed on deposit until 6 weeks after the Orders are made or until it is decided not to continue with the proposals. BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSES TO ESTABLISH A TOUCAN CROSSING ON CLAPHAM ROAD, BEDFORD

Reason for Proposal: The developer is required to provide a new Toucan Crossing on Clapham Road as part of the planning and Section 278 Agreements in connection with the construction of the new school off Manton Lane, Bedford.

The Location of the Proposed Toucan Crossing is on Clapham Road, Bedford, outside Clapham Water Treatment Works. The centre of the crossing will be approximately 16.5 metres south of the southern boundary of property no. 140 Clapham Road. Further Details of the proposed toucan crossing, a plan and a statement of reasons for proposing to establish the crossing may be examined during normal working hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford. These documents are also available on the www.bedford.gov.uk/tro website. The details will be placed on deposit until 6 weeks after the crossings are commissioned or until it is decided not to continue with the proposal. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1) BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL (TURVEY: PART OF FOOTPATH A4) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Bedford Borough Council on the 31st July 2020, extended on 4th February 2021, 28th January 2022 and 3rd January 2023 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Turvey Part of footpath No A4 which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9576 5188 to (OS GR) SP 9579 5185 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 9th February 2025.

This closure is required for construction works to continue on site.

The closure will continue from Saturday 10th February 2024 for a period of one year.

There will be a minor diversion on site, please refer to site plan.

The Order will come into operation on 10th February 2024 for a period not exceeding one year or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within one year the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
