Durham, Temporary Road & Footpath Closure Due To Installation Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Elm Court, Findon Avenue and Laburnum Court, Sacriston) (Temporary Road and Footpath Closure) Order 2024
The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following roads or footpaths in Sacriston:
Temporary Road Closure a. a 96 metre length of Elm Court / Laburnum Court between its junctions with Church Street and the road leading from Front Street toward Brookside, and also b. a 140 metre length of Findon Avenue that extends southwards from its junction with the road leading from Front Street to Brookside
Temporary Footpath Closure a. a 103 metre length of segregated footpath along the side of nos.16,14 and between 7-10 Laburnum Court, and b. a 38 metre length to the northern side of nos.11-13 Laburnum Court, Sacriston to enable new telecom infrastructure installation works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from a. the southern side of the closure from the road leading to Brookside, easterly, then northerly on the road between Elm Court and Oak Court and easterly on Church Street to the northern side of the closure,
b. northern side of the closure from the road leading to Brookside, easterly and then southerly on Witton Avenue and westerly on the link road toward Findon Avenue to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa. Pedestrian traffic via other local footpaths in the area. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on 26/2/24 and are anticipated to be completed in 3 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
