MAJOR MAINTENANCE BRIDGE WORKS

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council intends to make temporary traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below, to control traffic.

WHERE & WHAT: Avon Causeway from its junction with Matchams Lane to its junction with Ringwood Road - road closed to all vehicles -no parking, no waiting, no loading/unloading at any time. Works to be undertaken to the bridge on Avon Causeway spanning the A338.

WHEN: From Monday 4 March up to and including Friday 22 March 2024.

WHY: To undertake major maintenance work including waterproofing, joint replacement work and concrete repairs to the bridge on behalf of BCP Council.

ACCESS: Full Emergency access will be maintained and access to properties/businesses will be maintained depending on site safety.

DIVERSIONS: via Ringwood Road, Stony Lane, Christchurch By-Pass, Fairmile Road, Hurn Road, Christchurch Road, Matchams Lane vice versa.

These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations. Restrictions may be in effect under this Order for up to 18 months and could be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State.
