What is happening?

DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.124 (PART)
CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH

WHEN: 20th February 2024 to 20th August 2024.
WHERE: Close public footpath No.124 Chapel-en-le-Frith from Charley Lane for approximately 460 meters, to where it meets public footpath No.140.
REASON: To facilitate public safety whilst a new pipeline is laid into the treatment works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: From the north of the closure take public footpath No.140. When it joins public footpath No.137 follow the southeast part of the path which leads to Charley Lane.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of footpath. The footpath will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.
Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
