What is happening?
THE SWANAGE TOWN COUNCIL (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2024
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Swanage Town Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
2. The general effect of the Order will be to:
• Revoke The Swanage Town Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2007 (as amended) and reinstate those provisions save for the amendments proposed and re-enact those provisions without any change of substance other than as set out in this notice.
• Increase tariff charges in the following car parks:

• Introduce free overnight parking in the Broad Road, Main Beach and North Beach car parks.
• Introduce changes to the Residents' Permit scheme, including increased periods of free parking in the long-stay car parks.
• Introduce provisions to regulate the charging of electric vehicles in certain car parks.
• Introduce allocated multiuse parking bays for longer vehicles in certain car parks.
• Prohibit overnight parking of Motorhomes in all car parks managed by the Town Council.
• Introduce one-hour no return periods in the short-stay car parks.
• Introduce changes to the Peveril Point Resident pass scheme.
• Introduce separate provisions for the management of the Fishers' Car Park, Peveril Point Road.
• Remove Sandpit Field, Queen Elizabeth II (Forres) Field and the hardstanding on Shore Road from the Off-Street Parking Order.
