What is happening?

C2 New Road, Windlesham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C2 New Road, Windlesham that extends from its junction with C3 Church Road, to the eastern side of the access road for “Westridge”. This Traffic Order is required to enable OCU Group to carry out low voltage electrical cabling installations and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm, within 2 weeks of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 04 March 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclist and equestrians. will be maintained at all times via a temporary walkway. Access to affected residences and businesses, including access for emergency services to such properties will be maintained at all times via the alternative route: Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times via the vehicular diversion route: – Westbound – Church Road, School Road, London Road, Grove End, Bagshot By-Pass (southbound) and New Road. Eastbound – Bagshot By-Pass (southbound), around the M3 flyover to return northwards on Bagshot By-Pass (northbound), Bracknell Road, London Road, School Road and Church Road.
