THE A47 TRUNK ROAD (CASTOR
INTERCHANGE, CITY OF PETERBOROUGH)
SLIP ROADS (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
TRAFFIC) ORDER 202_
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National
Highways Limited(a) intends to make an
Order on the A47 Trunk Road in the City of Peterborough to enable nearby Local Authority carriageway resurfacing and road marking works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place over 5 nights (8pm- 6am Monday to Friday), starting on, or after Monday 26 February 2024.
The effect of the Order would be to close the eastbound entry slip road to, and the westbound exit slip road from, the A47 at Castor Interchange.
Traffic wishing to join the A47 eastbound at
Castor Interchange would be diverted via Castor
Road, Stamford Road, King Street, Langley Bush Road and Sutton Heath Road to join the A47 and continue.
Traffic wishing to exit the A47 westbound at Castor Interchange would continue to Sutton Roundabout then via Peterborough Road and Loves Hill and continue.
The closures (which would not apply to emergency service or traffic officer vehicles) and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
The Order would come into force on 19 February 2024 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
