Sedgefield, Temporary Foopath Closure Due To Sewer Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Public Right of Way Footpath Number 15, Sedgefield) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2024
The Council on 26/1/24 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14(1) to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on a 381 metre length of Public Footpath no.15, Sedgefield from junction with A689 at northern side of closure in a southerly direction to junction with Public Footpath No.19 to enable sewage treatment works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to pedestrian traffic from north side of closure in a southerly direction on Public Footpath No.18, then east on Public Footpath No.19 to southern end of closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on 5/2/24 and are anticipated to be completed in 5 months. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
