What is happening?
THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (GROUP ORDER VARIOUS RESTRICTIONS) (VARIOUS LOCATIONS) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 20--
NOTICE is given that Sunderland City Council propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 33, 45, 46 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, by virtue of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act. The effect of the proposed Order will:
(i)Prohibit waiting at any time along the lengths of road in Schedule 1.
(ii)Prohibit waiting between Monday to Saturday 8am-6pm (inclusive) along the lengths of road in Schedule 2.
(iii)Prohibit loading and unloading at any time along the lengths of road in Schedule 3.
(iv)Introduce a disabled Parking Bay operating on all days and all hours on north side of Crowtree Road, from a point 3.5 metres east of its intersection with the extended party property boundary of the eastern gable end of 9 High Street West, for a distance of 45.2 metres in an easterly direction.
(v)Introduce a parking bay operating on all days for a maximum 20 minute stay with no return within 1 hour on the west side of Tunstall Road, from a point 5.0 metres north of the extended northern highway boundary of Belle Vue Road, for a distance of 18.0 metres in a northerly direction.
(vi)Introduce a parking bay operating Monday to Saturday (inclusive) between 8am-6pm with a 2 hour maximum stay with no return within 1 hour on the north side of Elizabeth Street, from a point 9.3 metres west of its intersection with the extended western highway boundary of Newcastle Road East Back, for a distance of 11.0 metres in a westerly direction.
(vii)Introduce a loading bay operating on all days and all hours on the south side of Richard Street, Houghton-le-Spring, from the extended western property boundary of 1 Richard Street, for a distance of 10.0 metres in an easterly direction.
(viii)Introduce a loading bay operating all days and all hours for Goods Vehicles only on the north-west side of Queen Street, from a point 8.8 metres north-east of the extended eastern building line of the Holiday Inn, for a distance of 12.8 metres in a south-westerly direction.
(ix)Introduce a Pay by Phone Parking Bay operating on all days between 8am-6pm (inclusive) at £1.10 per 30 min or part thereof on the south side of Mary Street, from a point 29.6 metres west of its intersection with the extended western building line of 1 Mary Street, to a point 0.8 metres east of the extended party property boundary of 8 & 9 Mary Street.
(x)Prohibit Stopping School Keep Clear at any time on the north-west side of Thornhill Park from a point 33.2 metres west of the extended eastern building line of number 1 Thornhill Park, for a distance of 43.56 metres in a westerly direction.
(xi)Prohibit Stopping School Keep Clear Mon-Fri (inclusive) between 8am-5pm along the lengths of road in Schedule 4.
(xii)Introduce a Police Parking Bay operating on all days and at all times on the north side of Queen Street, from a point 22.5 metres east of the extended eastern building line of The Holiday Inn, for a distance of 13.2 metres in an easterly direction.
(xiii)Introduce a Pedestrian and Cycle Zone except for loading between 4pm-10am on Blandford Street, from its intersection with the extended eastern highway boundary of Maritime Street, to its intersection with the extended western highway boundary of Waterloo Place West Back.
(xiv)Revoke the Orders to the extent set out in Schedule 5.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland SR1 3AA, until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which the Order is made or as the case may be, the Council decides not to proceed to make the Order. Brougham Street (i) the south side from a point 75.4 metres west of its intersection with the extended western highway boundary of Waterloo Place West Back, to its western extent. Crow Lane (i) both sides from a point 16.2 metres south-east of the extended party property boundary of 1 & 2 Crow Lane, to its south-eastern extent.
Derwent Street (i) both sides from a point 9.0 metres north-east of its intersection with the extended northern highway boundary of Mary Street, to its south-western extent. (ii) the south-east side from the extended north-eastern highway boundary of Stockton Road, to its north-eastern extent. Freezemoor Road, Houghton-le-spring (i) the north-west side from the extended eastern building line of 6 Freezemoor Road, to a point 7.5 metres north of the extended southern building line of 6 Freezemoor Road. Fulwell Road (i) the east side from the extended northern property boundary of 128 Fulwell Road, to a point 10.0 metres north of the extended northern highway boundary of Stranton Terrace. Gartland Road (i) both sides from a point 10.0 metres west of the extended western highway boundary of Greenwood Road, to its eastern extent. Gillingham Road (i) both sides from a point 44.9 metres west of the extended western property boundary of 85 Gillingham Road, to its western extent. Greenwood Road (i) the east side from a point 10.0 metres south of the extended southern highway boundary of Gillingham Road, to a point 26.5 metres north of the extended northern highway boundary of Gillingham Road.
