The A38 Trunk Road Between Alfreton & Pinxton - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic in Laybys

What is happening?

NATIONAL HIGHWAYS

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)( a) and  (7) THE A38 TRUNK ROAD  (BETWEEN ALFRETON ND PINXTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBYS) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an order on the A38 Trunk Road, between Alfreton and Pinxton, in the County of Derbyshire, to allow street lighting maintenance works to be carried out.

The effect of the Order will be to close the laybys adjacent to –

(a)  the northbound carriageway of the A38 from its junction with the entry slip road leading from its roundabout junction with the A61 Derby Road and the B6179 Derby Road (Watchorn Roundabout), at Alfreton, to its roundabout junction with the M1 Junction 28 slip roads and Mansfield Road (Pinxton Interchange), at Pinxton; and

(b)  the southbound carriageway of the A38 from its junction with Pinxton Interchange, to its junction with the exit slip road leading to Watchorn Roundabout.

The laybys are expected to be closed for 24 hours per day from 12:00 hours on Monday 12 February 2024 until 06:00 hours on Saturday 17 February 2024. The Order will come into force on Monday 5 February 2024.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures.
