What is happening?

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (SHINCLIFFE, HIGH SHINCLIFFE & BOWBURN) (PARKING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2014 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2023

The Council on 26/1/2024 made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, and part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 "the Act"), as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 8/2/2024 and will introduce 'No Waiting At Any Time restrictions on: a. The western side of the junction from the A177 into Low Road, starting from the northern boundary of Goreth, for a distance of 47m in a northern direction, b. The eastern side of the junction from the A177 into Low Road, starting from a point adjacent to Goreth, for a distance of 44m in a north-easterly direction c. Both sides of the junction from St Mary's Close onto Low Road, starting from a point adjacent to No. 20 St Mary's Close, for a distance of 19m either side in a westerly direction, d. The western side of Low Road, starting from a point adjacent to No. 4 Chapter Cottages, for a distance of 12m in a southern direction, e. The western side of Low Road, starting from a point adjacent to Poplar Tree House, for a distance of 31 m in a northern direction, f. The southern side of Low Road, starting from a point adjacent to Cowdray House, for a distance of 22m in an easterly direction, g. Both sides of the junction from Hall Farm onto High Street, starting from a point adjacent to The Corner House, for a distance of 10m in a southern direction, h. Both sides of the junction from the A177 into Bowburn North Industrial Estate Service Road, starting from points 18m either side of the junction, for a distance of 230m in a south westerly direction, i. The northern side of Bowburn South Industrial Estate, starting from a point adjacent to Clever Clogs Nursery, for a distance of 110m in a westerly direction and 10m into the minor side road junction. J. The southern side of Bowburn South Industrial Estate, starting from a point on the A177, Durham Road, adjacent to Clever Clogs Nursery, for a distance of 83m in a south westerly direction, k. The south-western corner of the junction from Bowburn South Industrial Estate leading to Bowburn Care Centre, starting from a point adjacent to Clever Clogs Nursery, for a distance of 49m in a south westerly direction. I. Both sides of Harvey Way for its full extent, extending from existing restrictions for a distance of 265m. To extend the existing 'No Waiting and No Loading/Unloading At Any Time' restrictions on: The western side of the A177, Durham Road, starting From a point adjacent to No.7A Durham Road West, for a distance of 44m in a north-westerly direction. A copy of the Order and supporting documents can be seen via the Council website, and at Bowburn Library during normal opening hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by "the Act", as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 1/2/2024.
