What is happening?

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (VAROUS STREETS, FRAMWELLGATE MOOR) (20 MPH ZONE) ORDER 2023

The Council on 26/1/2024 made an Order under Sections 81,82, 84 & 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 "the Act"), as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 8/2/2024 and will introduce a 20mph ZONE on 1. C100 Durham Moor and Front Street for 567 metres from 15.5 metres south west of the centre line of the junction with Camsell Court and extending in a north easterly and northerly direction to 16 metres south of centre line junction with Alexandra Close. 2. Tindale Avenue from its junction with Front Street extending westerly for the entire length of the adopted highway. 3. Durham Terrace from its junction with Front Street extending westerly for the entire length of the adopted highway.4. North Terrace from its junction with Front Street extending westerly for the entire length of the adopted highway.

A copy of the Order and supporting documents can be seen via the Council website, and at Newton Hall Library during normal opening hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by "the Act", as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 1/2/2024.
