What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BURY LANE, CODICOTE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bury Lane, Codicote from its junction with B656 High Street north eastwards for a distance of approximately 110m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B656 (High Street/Codicote Road/Link Road/Church Street), B197 (Great North Road/Mardley Hill/London Road), Station Road, Station Approach, Park Lane, Nup End and Bury Lane.
The Order is needed because water service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 17 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B6426 CAVENDISH WAY, HATFIELD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the eastbound carriageway of B6426 Cavendish Way, Hatfield from its junction with St Albans Road West north eastwards to its junction with the Lemsford Road/Briars Lane roundabout, a distance of approximately 90m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B6426 Cavendish Way, A1001 Comet Way, B197 Wellfield Rd and B6426 Queensway.
The Order is needed because tree cutting works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NEWGATE STREET VILLAGE, NEWGATE STREET) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Newgate Street Village, Newgate Street from its junction with New Park Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 30m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Newgate Street Village, Newgate Street, Darnicle Hill, Hammondstreet Road, Dig Dag Hill, Longfield Lane, Flamstead End Road, B156 (Brookfield Lane West/Halfhide Lane), A1170 (Great Cambridge Road/High Road), Bell Lane, Baas Hill, White Stubbs Lane, C54 (unnamed road) and Newgate Street Village.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 20 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS IN A1001 COMET WAY, HATFIELD) ORDER NO.2 2024
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of A1001 Comet Way, Hatfield from its junction with the B197 Wellfield Road/Hatfield Avenue roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 218m ("the Road"), when signs are in place. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B197 WELLFIELD ROAD, HATFIELD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B197 Wellfield Road, Hatfield from its junction with The Minims south eastwards for a distance of approximately 558m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B197 Wellfield Road, A1001 Comet Way, B6426 (Cavendish Way/Queensway) and B197 Wellfield Road. The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 5 February 2024 for
a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take
effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of C54 (unnamed road), Newgate Street from its junction with Tylers Causeway northwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 350m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via Tylers Causeway, Cucumber Lane, Berkhamsted Lane, Little Berkhamsted Lane, Church Road and C54 (unnamed road). The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 5 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN CRANBORNE CRESCENT, POTTERS BAR) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular
traffic from using that length of Cranborne Crescent, Potters Bar from a point
22m south east of its junction with Bornedene north eastwards, south eastwards,
south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 533m
("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Cranborne Crescent.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides
of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 5 February 2024 for
a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take
effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cucumber Lane, Essendon from its junction with B158 High Road south eastwards to its junction with Berkhamsted Lane, a distance of approximately 348m ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via B158 (High Road/Essendon Hill/Low Road/Lower Hatfield Road), Robins Nest Hill, Little Berkhamsted Lane and Berkhamsted Lane. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 2 February 2024 for

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new
30 and 40 mph speed limits on parts of Bullens Green Lane, Hatfield as specified in the Schedules to this Notice.
