What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE C328 PLAYFORD ROAD, RUSHMERE ST ANDREW

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C328 Playford Road, Rushmere St Andrew to facilitate overhead fibre works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Playford Road, theA1214, Main Road, Bealings Road, Martlesham Road, Playford Road and vice versa.

It Is Intended that the closure will operate on 01/02/2024 from 9.30am - 2.30pm but, If necessary, the order may remain In force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Sunbelt Rentals. Tel: 0370 050 0792.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE U4441 ADAIR ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U4441 Adair Road, Ipswich to facilitate Carriageway resurfacing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Henniker Road, High View Road, Bramford Lane, the A1214, the B1067 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/02/2024 - 03/02/2024 from 7pm - 5am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Suffolk Highways. Tel: 0345 606 6171.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C209 PEASENHALL ROAD, WALPOLE

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C209 Peasenhall Road, Walpole from 20 metres north of the junction with Hibbs Road for 40 metres southbound to facilitate cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1117, Heveningham Long Lane, the A1120, Pouy Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/02/2024 - 02/02/2024 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Sunbelt Rentals. Tel: 0370 050 0792.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C695 BURY ROAD, BRADFIELD ST GEORGE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C695 Bury Road, Bradfield St George from 93 metres east of Linkwood Road for 80 metres eastbound to facilitate water pipe installation and vegetation works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Bur Road, The Street, Little Whelnetham Road, Sudbury Road, Water Lane, Bradfield Road, Great Green, Felsham Road, Cockfield Road, Drink Stone Road, Hollybush Comer and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10/02/2024 -12/02/2024 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Anglian Water Services. Tel: 0345 714 5145.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C325 STATION ROAD, LITTLE BEALINGS

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C325 Station Road, Little Bealings from the railway track for 20 metres northbound and 20 metres southbound to facilitate rail track renewal. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Street, Playford Road, Butts Road, Bealings Road, Boot Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 10/02/2024 -12/02/2024.17/02/2024 -19/02/2024 and 24/02/2024 - 26/02/2024 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF FOREST HEATHHSTOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (MAP-BASED) ORDER 2019 (EXNING) (CHAPEL STREET) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (VARIATION NO. 8) ORDER 2024

On 22/01/2024 Suffolk County Council made the above order for the District of Forest Heath under Sections 1,2 and 4 and Part IV of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended which shall substitute revision 1 of Map Tiles DW17 in place of revision 0 of the same Map Tile, into the above-named 2019 order, as amended. The effect of this would be to introduce:

  • the addition of a new 'no waiting at any time' restriction to start from the northern boundary of property no. 59 extending 31 metres northwest
  • the addition of a new 'no waiting at any time' restriction to start from the existing double yellow lines on the east side of Chapel Street, extending 13 metres northwest, and
  • the addition of new no waiting at any time restrictions, extending 14 metres in length, on either side of the junction located between New River Green and Chapel Street.

A copy of the order, which comes into effect on 29/01/2024, and maps showing the roads affected may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday and also Newmarket Library la the Guineas, Newmarket CB8 8EQ on Tuesday 8.30 am - 6pm; Wednesday 9am - 5pm; Thursday 8.30am - 5pm; Friday 8.30am - 6.30pm; Saturday 9am - 5pm and Sunday 10am - 4pm (excluding bank holidays and public holidays).

If anyone wishes to question the validity of the order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (MARTLESHAM) (BRIGHTWELL LAKES JUNCTION) (A12 AND U3217) (AUSTER WAY) (PROHIBITION OF HORSES AT THE BRIGHTWELL LAKES DEVELOPMENT ACCESS) ORDER 202-

Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1,2 and 3 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which would be to prohibit any person from causing or allowing horses to proceed along the A12, on both sides of the new pedestrian crossing at its junction with the side road (U3217) (Auster Way) leading to the Brightwell Lakes Development.

A copy of the draft order and a map showing the length of road affected, together with the Council's reasons for the proposals, may be seen on request, at the address below between 9am - 5pm and also at Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich IP1 3DE, Monday; 9am - 6pm Tuesday; 9am - 7pm, Wednesday - Thursday; 9am - 6pm; Friday; 9am - 7pm; Saturday; 8.30am - 5pm and on Sunday 10am - 4pm excluding bank holidays and public holidays.

Objections and any other representations relating to these proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, must reach Suffolk County Council Legal Services at the address below or at: aishah.siddika@suffolk.gov.uk not later than 21/02/2024.
