What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(UNION STREET AND CHILTERN ROAD, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full lengths of Union Street and Chiltern Road, Dunstable. This temporary closure is required to enable the installation of traffic calming features and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on Chiltern Road from 19 March to 12 April 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm and on Union Street from 19 February to 18 March 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

The alternative route for this closure is via High Street North (A505), West Street (B489), Chiltern Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 19 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(DUNSTABLE ROAD, CADDINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Dunstable Road, Caddington between A5183 and Mancroft Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable traffic calming scheme works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 23 February 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A5183, Church Street, Luton Road, A5065, Chaul End Road, Dunstable Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 19 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Langdale Road, Dunstable between Bullpond Lane and Lowther Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 27 February 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Periwinkle Lane, High Street South, London Road, Beech Road, Lowther Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 19 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(VICTORIA STREET, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Victoria Street, Dunstable between Clifton Road and West Street.

This temporary closure is required to enable footway resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on Victoria Street between the hours of 8am and 6pm as follows:

Between Clifton Road and Union Street 20 to 27 February 2024

Between Union Street and Albion Street 23 to 29 February 2024

Between Albion Street and West Street 29 February to 11 March 2024 The alternative route for this closure is via Chiltern Road, High Street North, West Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 20 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(SCHOOL LANE, STUDHAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of School Lane, Studham.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 23 February 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Manor Road, Barton-le-Clay between Dunstall Road and Ivel Close.

This temporary closure is required to enable footway patching works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 23 February 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Manor Road, Hexton Road, Bedford Road, Manor Road and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (CHILTERN GREEN AND CHILTERN GREEN ROAD, HYDE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the lengths of Chiltern Green and Chiltern Green Road, Hyde between Dane Street and approximately 20 metres south of the Gas Plant Station.

This temporary closure is required to enable surface dressing and lining works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 19 February to 1 March 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The roads will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Dane Street, Lawrence End Road, Hyde Lane, Farrs Lane, B653, Chiltern Green Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 19 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (LUTON ROAD, CADDINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Luton Road, Caddington between Woodside Road and Farley Fields.

This temporary closure is required to enable bridge inspection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 20 to 22 February 2024 between the hours of 7pm and 6am. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via B4540, Mancroft Road, Dunstable Road, Luton Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 20 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (COMMON ROAD, KENSWORTH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Common Road, Kensworth outside number 231.

This temporary closure is required to enable water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 7 to 9 February 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via Isle of Wight Lane, B4541, B4540 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 7 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (EAST HILL ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of East Hill Road, Houghton Regis in a westerly direction between number 25 and The Quadrant.

This temporary lane closure is required to enable service pipe repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 6 to 8 February 2024. The lane will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure for cyclists is via The Quadrant, Leafields, Sundon Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 6 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

This temporary closure is required to enable surface dressing and lining works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 1 to 5 February 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Church Road, Dunstable Road and vice versa.

This temporary closure is required to enable surface dressing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 2 to 6 February 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Spratts Lane, B4540 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 2 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO EXTEND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON TAVISTOCK STREET, DUNSTABLE

Reason for proposal: The waiting restrictions are intended to ensure that visibility is not restricted at the crossing point.

Effect of the Order:

To extend No Waiting from Monday to Sunday between 7:00am and 7:00pm on the following length of road in Dunstable:-

1.  Tavistock Street, south-east side, from a point approximately in line with Lamp Column No.2 (where the current waiting restrictions end) and extending in a north-easterly direction for approximately 15 metres (up to the tactile paving).
