1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Newham ("the Council') proposes to make the above Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Disabled Resident Parking Places Orders and the Disabled Persons Permit Parking Places Order would be to designate disabled resident parking places for use only by persons who are resident within the Beckton, Canning Town, Canning Town North, East Ham, East Ham South East, Green Street North, Market Street, Monega, Plaistow North, Plaistow South, Ruskin, Stratford, Stratford South East and Upton Park Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs), who meet the current criteria for the provision of parking places for disabled persons and who have been issued disabled resident parking permits for their vehicles. Certain other vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g., to load or unload goods or pick up or set down passengers. A single parking place would be designated at each of the locations listed below. (NOTE - at locations where an 'overlap' is also stated, the proposed parking place would overlap the frontage of the adjacent property numbers, by up to 1 metre):-
Beckton Controlled Parking Zone - No. 23 Devalls Close E6;
Canning Town Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 42 & 44 Charford Road E16;
Canning Town North Controlled Parking Zone - No. 37 Ordnance Road E16;
East Ham Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 128 & 130 Altmore Avenue E6, No. 86 Burges Road E6,
Nos. 45 & 47 Leigh Road E6, No. 133 Milton Avenue E6 (overlaps Nos. 131 & 135) and Nos. 44 & 46
Shelley Avenue E12;
East Ham South East Controlled Parking Zone - Opposite No. 42 Folkestone Road E6;
Green Street North Controlled Parking Zone - No. 54 Glenparke Road E7 (overlaps No. 56), No.
51 Sherrard Road E7 (overlaps Nos. 49 & 51) and No. 5 Westbury Road E7 (overlaps No. 7);
Market Street Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 137 & 139 Ranelagh Road E6;
Monega Controlled Parking Zone - No. 64 Shrewsbury Road E7 (overlaps No. 66) and No. 252
Strone Road E12 (overlaps No. 250);
Plaistow North Controlled Parking Zone - No. 5 Stock Street E13 (overlaps Nos. 3 & 7); Plaistow South Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 155 & 157 New City Road E13; Ruskin Controlled Parking Zone - No. 79 Browning Road E12 (overlaps No. 81); Stratford Controlled Parking Zone - No. 4 Well Street E15 (Nos. 1-12 Karachi House); Stratford South East Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 33 & 35 St Lucia Drive E15 and Bettons Park E15 (22 metres north-east of a point opposite the southern wall of No. 58); and
Upton Park Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 35 & 37 Tudor Road E6.
3. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Orders can be made available during normal office hours on Monday to Friday by emailing traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk, by telephoning 020 3373 6415, or inspected (by prior appointment - please telephone the above number) at Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road E16 2QU, until six weeks after the date on which the Orders are made or until the proposed Orders are withdrawn, as appropriate.

5. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing by 21 February 2024. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. They should be sent to the Director of Highways, Parking & Transportation, London Borough of Newham, 3rd Floor West, Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road, London E16 2QU or by email to traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk.
6. Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any letter or email sent to the Council in response to this Notice may be subject to publication or disclosure, or both, including communication to other persons affected.
