Various Roads in Chobham (20mph and 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2024
On 23 January 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-named Order, under section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to (a) impose a 20 miles per hour speed limit in the lengths of roads specified and described in the First Schedule to this Notice, which will be signed as a 20mph zone; (b) impose a 30 miles per hour speed limit in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Second Schedule to this Notice; (c) carry out legal drafting amendments to “The Borough of Surrey Heath (Beldam Bridge Road, Scotts Grove Road and Pennypot Lane, Chobham) (40MPH Speed Limit) Order 1998” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in sub paragraph (b) of the Second Schedule to this notice so as to reflect the change in speed limit from 40 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour; (d) carry out legal drafting amendments to “The Borough of Surrey Heath Various Roads (Chobham) (Speed Limits) Order 1995” insofar as it affects Bagshot Road (A319) Chobham so as to reflect the change in speed limit from 40 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour; (e) carry out legal drafting amendments to “The Surrey County Council Borough of Surrey Heath (A319 Bagshot Road and A322 Guildford Road, West End) (40MPH Speed Limit) Order 2004” insofar as it affects Bagshot Road (A319) Chobham so as to reflect the change in speed limit from 40 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour. The speed limit proposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011. A copy of the made Order, which will come into operation on 02 February 2024 and a copy of the Order to be revoked, together with the plan showing the length of road to which this Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be inspected free of charge at (1) Surrey Highways, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford Surrey GU4 7BQ; between 10am and 4pm; (2) Lightwater Library, Guildford Road, Lightwater, Surrey, GU18 5SB, during normal opening hours; and (3) Borough Council Offices, Surrey Heath House, Knoll Road, Camberley, GU15 3HD during normal office hours.
First Schedule – 20mph Zone
(a) that length of High Street (A3046) Chobham as extends from its
junction at the mini roundabout with (A3046) Station Road and (C11) Castle Grove Road to its junction at the mini roundabout with (A319) Bagshot Road and (A319) High Street; (b) that length of High Street (A319) Chobham as extends from its junction at the mini roundabout with (A319) Bagshot Road and (A3046) High Street northwards for a distance of 174 metres; (c) that length of Bagshot Road (A319) Chobham as extends from its junction at the mini roundabout with (A3046) High Street and (A319) High Street westwards for a distance of 185 metres.; (d) the entire length of carriageway comprised within the mini roundabout at the junctions of (A319) Bagshot Road, (A319) High Street, and (A3046) High Street.
Second Schedule – 30mph
(a) that length of Bagshot Road (A319) Chobham as extends from a point 185 metres west of its junction at the mini roundabout with (A3046) High Street and (A319) High Street to a point 110m metres west of the continuation of the western kerb line of Pennypot Lane; (b) the entire length of Pennypot Lane (D26) Chobham; (c) the entire length of Clappers Lane (D37) Chobham.
