(Lime Street Area) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving)
Order, 2024.
Notice is hereby given that the Council has made the
above-mentioned Order under Section 14 of The Road Traffic
Regulation Act, 1984, to vary Article 10 (Prohibition of
Driving) as contained within The City Council of Liverpool
(Lime Street Area) (Revocation, Prohibition of Driving,
Prohibition of Left - & Right-Turn Manoeuvres, Prescribed
Route, Prohibition of Entry & Twenty Miles Per Hour
Speed Limit) (Experimental) Order, 2022, so as to include
within the exemptions, “any vehicle that is egressing from
St Johns Shopping Centre”. Article 10 now reads as follows:-
“10. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed
at any time in: - (a) Lime Street, from its junction with -
(i) London Road in a southerly direction to its junction with
St George’s Place; & (ii) St George’s Place, in a northerly
direction to its junction with London Road; (b) St George’s
Place, from its junction with - (i) Lime Street in a north
westerly direction to its junction with St John’s Lane; &
(ii) St John’s Lane in a south easterly direction to its junction
with Lime Street; & (c) St John’s Lane, from its junction with -
(i) Roe Street in a south easterly direction to its junction with
St George’s Place; & (ii) St George’s Place, in a north westerly
direction to its junction with Roe Street, other than a public
service vehicle, coach, licensed hackney carriage, licensed
private hire vehicle displaying door signs (decals) in addition to
a license plate, a vehicle being used by the Police, Ambulance,
Fire Service (in the process of attending an emergency call
and whilst displaying blue flashing lights), a statutory services,
postal operator or local authority vehicle being used in
pursuance of their essential duties, an emergency liveried NHS
vehicle being used for the urgent transport of blood, tissues
and organs, any vehicle being used by His Majesty’s Prison
Service or their contractors for the transportation of prisoners
whilst escorted by marked police vehicles, a pedal cycle or
electrically assisted pedal cycle not being a motor vehicle, any
vehicle that is egressing from St Johns Shopping Centre
and access for loading/unloading purposes only.”
This temporary variation will be operative from the
26 January 2024 to 1 April 2024 in line with the current
duration of the above-mentioned Experimental Traffic
Regulation Order.
