Notice is hereby given that under Section 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1),45, 46, 49, 53, and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the Essex County Council proposes to implement the following on the following lengths of road, in the District of Braintree as detailed below: -

Effect of the Order:

1. To Revoke: 'No Waiting at Any Time' Restrictions:

Road - Description

Station Approach Northern Side of Traffic Island - From a point approximately 2 metres south of the north-western corner of the traffic island, north, then east, then south around the northern edge of the traffic island for approximately 19.1 metres.

Station Approach - NORTH SIDE: (i) From a point approximately 71 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, west for approximately 13 metres. (ii) From a point approximately 51 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, east for approximately 49 metres. SOUTH SIDE: (iii) From a point approximately 37 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, west for approximately 20 metres.

2. To Implement: 'No Waiting at Any Time' Restrictions:

Road - Description

Station Approach All sides of Traffic Island - All sides of the Traffic Island (excluding the bus stop to the north) for approximately 27 metres.

Station Approach - NORTH SIDE: (i) From the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, west for approximately 54 metres. (ii) From a point approximately 73 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, west for approximately 10 metres. SOUTH SIDE: (i) From a point approximately 37 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, west for approximately 36 metres, into the Bus Stop area. (ii) From a point approximately 90 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, east for approximately 23 metres, into the Bus Stop area.

3. To Relocate: 'Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 6am-7pm 20 mins No Return Within 40 mins' Restriction:

Road - Remove From - New location

Station Approach, North Side - From a point approximately 51 metres west of the centre line of the junction with Timber Yard, of the junction with Timber Yard, west for approximately 20 metres. - From a point approximately 54 metres west of the centre line west for approximately 19 metres.

4. To Revoke: 'No Stopping 7am-7pm Except Buses' Restriction:

Road - Description

Station Approach Bus Stop Area - From a point approximately 9 metres south of the western kerb line of Station Approach, southwards then east, for approximately 39 metres.

5. To Implement: 'No Stopping at Any Time Except Buses' Restriction:

Road - Description

Station Approach northern side off Traffic Island - From a point approximately 1.5 metres east of the traffic islands western kerb line, east for approximately 13 metres.

Station Approach Bus Stop Area - From a point approximately 1.5 metres east of the north-western kerb line of Station Approach, east for approximately 12 metres.

This Order will be incorporated into 'The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019' by substituting map tiles: TL760 225 Revision 0 to Revision 1, TL760 227 Revision 1 to Revision 2.

6. To Implement: ''One-Way' Restriction:

Road - Permitted direction of travel

Station Approach 'Loop' section (between railway station and car park) - Westbound.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council under highway improvement powers given by sections 65 and 66 of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling powers, proposes to convert various sections of the 'Footway' to an 'Unsegregated Shared Footway/Cycleway'.

Road - Description

Station Approach ('loop' section) - WEST SIDE: (footway) From a point approximately 4.5 metres south of southern kerb line of Station Approach at its junction with the western end of Station Approach 'Loop' section, south for approximately 4.5 metres, with a width of approximately 2.4 metres. EAST/SOUTH SIDE: (footway) From the south-eastern corner of Station Approach 'loop' section's kerb line, in a south-easterly direction for approximately 6 metres up to the station boundary, with a width of approximately 3.7 metres.

Cycle scoops' (dropped kerbs) will provide connections between on-carriageway cycle facilities and the proposed shared use areas that connect directly to the station and National Cycle Network route through the adjacent privately owned car park.

(Coulson Gardens, Braintree) (20mph Zone) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under S84(1) (a) and (2), and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To Implement: a '20mph Zone'.

Road - Description

Coulson Gardens - From a point approximately 10 metres northeast of its junction with B1053 Church Lane, north-eastwards for its entire length, including any turning heads.

The Order will come into operation on: 09 February 2024.

(Brent Hall Road, Finchingfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brent Hall Road, Finchingfield in the District of Braintree, from its junction with The Chase for a distance of approximately 60m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th February 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD02310734172/4 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via High Street, Moor End Road, Anso Road, High Street, Bumpstead Road, Hempstead Road, Water Lane, Church Street, Finchingfield Road, Cornish Hall End, Little London Hill, Howe Street, Duck End, The Causeway, The Green and vice versa (with access only into Brent Hall Road, Sampford Road, Hawkins Hill and Finchingfield Road).

The Order will come into effect on 1st February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Fairstead Road, Terling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fairstead Road, Terling in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 145m north east of its junction with New Road for a distance of approximately 135m in a north easterly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th February 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008PTMS519320 - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Fairstead Road, Pole Lane, Witham Road, The Street, Church Hill, The Street, Faulkbourne Road, Terling Road, Witham Road, Hatfield Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 1st February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Spains Hall Road, Finchingfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Spains Hall Road, Finchingfield in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 1160m north west of its junction with Duck End for a distance of approximately 255m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st February 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30065206969 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Tinkers Green Road, Cornish Hall End, Little London Hill, Howe Street, Duck End and vice versa (with access only into Spains Hall Road).

The Order will come into effect on 1st February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Sunnyside, Braintree and Bocking) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sunnyside, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Rayne Road for a distance of approximately 10m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th February 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (N7103DIS150332-4 - Virgin Media). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway crossing works are undertaken by Virgin Media.

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 1st February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Worlds End, Hatfield Peverel) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (North Hill, Little Baddow) (Temporary Suspension of Weight Restriction) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Worlds End, Hatfield Peverel in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 950m south of the junction with Mowden Hall Lane for a distance of approximately 145m in a south westerly direction.

2. To temporarily suspend the weight restriction on North Hill, Little Baddow, (Paper Mill Bridge), crossing the river Chelmer between the parishes of Little Baddow in the Borough of Chelmsford and Hatfield Peverel in the District of Braintree from a point 136, north east of its access to Lock House north eastwards for a distance of 35m as detailed in 'Essex County Council (Paper Mill Bridge (ECC303), North Hill, Little Baddow) (Weight Restriction) Order 2001 for the duration of the above closure only.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st February 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30021253725-UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via London Road, The Street, Maldon Road, Hatfield Road, Maldon Road, Langford Road, Langford Road Roundabout, Heybridge Approach, Pond Roundabout, Maldon Bypass, Spital Road Roundabout, Spital Road, Wycke Hill, Wycke Hill Roundabout, Maldon Road, Oak Corner, Burnham Road, Southend Road, Maldon Road -B1418, Tyndales Lane, Hyde Lane, Capons Lane, Gay Bowers Lane, Copt Hill, Maldon Road and vice versa (with access only into Mowden Hall Lane, Worlds End, North Hill, The Ridge and Little Baddow Road).

The Order will come into effect on 1st February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Elsham Drive, Great Notley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Elsham Drive, Great Notley in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Wood Way to its junctions with Cuckoo Way Roundabout a distance of approximately 70m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th February 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA005GTN-93-ED -Gigaclear). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while reinstatement works are undertaken by Gigaclear.

An alternative route is available via Cuckoo Way Roundabout, Cuckoo Way, Wood Way and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 18th January 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Mill Lane, Cressing) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Lane, Cressing in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 225m south west of its junction with Witham Road for a distance of approximately 65m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th February 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03062012600 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter exchange works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Braintree Road and vice versa (with access only into Mill Lane).

The Order came into effect on 18th January 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Park Drive, Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Park Drive, Braintree in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Challis Lane for a distance of approximately 40m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th February 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7011001289725 - Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Masefield Road, Challis Lane and vice versa (with access only into Park Drive, Goldingham Drive and Milton Avenue).

The Order came into effect on 18th January 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Ranks Green Road, Fairstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ranks Green Road, Fairstead in the District of Braintree from its junction with Fairstead Lodge Road for a distance of approximately 385m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th February 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA005RGN-104107-RGR - Gigaclear). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while reinstatement works are undertaken by Gigaclear.

An alternative route is available via Fairstead Lodge Road, Fuller Street, Boreham Road, Mill Lane, Ranks Green Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 18th January 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order (No.1) 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Braintree as specified in the schedule.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restrictions will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 18th January 2024, exact dates will be specified on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
