What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BACK LANE, PRESTON) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Back Lane, Preston from its junction with Parsonage Lane north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Frogmore Bottom Road, a distance of approximately 562m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via Parsonage Lane, Church Road, Lilley Bottom Road, B651 (High Street/Hitchin Road/Whitwell Road), B656 London Road, Gosmore Road, Hitchin Road, High Street, Preston Road, Hitchin Road, School Lane and Church Lane. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN ARLESEY ROAD, ICKLEFORD) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Arlesey Road, Ickleford from its junction with Turnpike Lane north eastwards to its junction with Icknield Close, a distance of approximately 139m ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via Turnpike Lane, A600 Bedford Road, A505 (Fishponds Road/Bunyan Road/Nightingale Road/Cambridge Road), Stotfold Road, Wilbury Hills Road, Arlesey New Road and Arlesey Road. ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED ON THE SOUTH WEST SIDE OF A602 HITCHIN ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the south west side of A602 Hitchin Road, Stevenage from a point 314m south east of its junction with Ingleside Drive south eastwards for a distance of approximately 43m ("the Cycle Track"). Pedal Cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 9 February 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track. (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") will be:-

1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of Roads, except for access:-

a) that length of Gresley Way, Stevenage from its junction with Lanterns Lane north eastwards and northwards to its junction with Chalkdown, a distance of approximately 450m.

An alternative route will be via Gresley Way, Six Hills Way, A1155 (St Georges Way/Fairlands Way), B1037 Fairlands Way and Gresley Way.

b) that length of The White Way, Stevenage from its junction with Beane Avenue eastwards to its junction with Gresley Way, a distance of approximately 50m.

An alternative route will be via The White Way, B1037 Fairlands Way and Gresley Way.

2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a right turn manoeuvre from Lanterns Lane into Gresley Way, Stevenage, whilst signs are in place.

An alternative route will be via Gresley Way, Six Hills Way, A1155 (St Georges Way/Fairlands Way), B1037 Fairlands Way and Gresley Way.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF DANE END LANE AND HALLS GREEN, WESTON) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-

1. that length of Dane End Lane, Weston from its junction with Dane End Farm Lane south eastwards, north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Halls Green, a distance of approximately 1110m.

An alternative route will be via Dane End Lane, Warrens Green Lane, Damask Green Road, Maiden Street and Halls Green.

2. that length of Halls Green, Weston from its junction with Weston Road south westwards, north westwards, south westwards, north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 2363m.

An alternative route will be via C14 (unnamed road), B1037 (White Hill/High Street/Stevenage Road/Fairlands Way), A1155 Verity Way, A1072 Martins Way, Canterbury Way, Great Ashby Way, Orwell Avenue, Calder Way, Weston Road, Damask Green Road, Maiden Street and Halls Green.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 29 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF C5 (UNNAMED ROAD), RUSHDEN) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of C5 (unnamed road), Rushden from its junction with Bennetts Lane southwards for a distance of approximately 149m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via C5 (unnamed road), Redhill, C10 (unnamed road), The Street, Kits Lane, Wallington Road, B656 (Royston Bypass Interchange with Wallington Road/Royston Road), A507 Clothall Road and C5 (unnamed road). The Order is needed because overhead line maintenance works are proposed to be executed near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 31 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. THE HERTFORDSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, HITCHIN) (20 MPH ZONE) ORDER 2024 ROAD HUMP NOTICE (VERULAM ROAD, HITCHIN) 2024

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce a new 20 mph zone in parts of Hitchin as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice. It is also proposed under sections 90A – 90F of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999, to install speed cushions in that length of Verulam Road, Hitchin as specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice. SCHEDULE 2: Speed Cushions – that section of road listed below and as set out in the Order and accompanying plan Verulam Road – (north westbound) centred on a point 3 metres south east of a point in line with the boundary between 18 and 18a Verulam Road. (south eastbound) centred on a point 5 metres north west of a point in line with the boundary between 18 and 18a Verulam Road. The speed cushions (constructed in a staggered pair) will be constructed at a height of approximately 65mm above the existing carriageway, each cushion is 2 metres wide and 1.6 metres wide with on/off gradients of 1:8, side gradient of 1:5.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (COREYS MILL LANE AND NORTH ROAD, STEVENAGE) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2022

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce waiting and loading restrictions in parts of Stevenage as specified in the Schedules to this Notice. The Order will come into effect on Friday 16 February 2024. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are held on deposit and may be viewed from 25 January 2024 to 7 March 2024 during office hours at Main Reception, Hertfordshire County Council, County Hall, Pegs Lane, Hertford or online at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting Stevenage and looking at Ref: S00122. NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce a new 20 mph zone on various roads in Stevenage as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice. SCHEDULE 2: Raised speed tables and cushions – those sections of road listed below and as set out in the scheme plans – Raised speed tables Homestead Moat: from a point 12.5 metres south of a point in line with the southern flank wall of No. 13 Homestead Moat southwards for 14.5 metres. A cycle priority crossing would be installed on the raised table connecting the two cycle tracks on the east and west sides of Homestead Moat; and from a point 3.5 metres south of a point in line with the northern flank wall of No. 2 Cleviscroft southwards for 8.5 metres. Elder Way – from a point 19.5 metres south west of a point in line with the projected south west kerbline of Buckthorn Avenue south westwards for 8.5 metres. The raised speed tables will be constructed at a height of approximately 65mm above the existing carriageway with on/off gradients of approximately 1:20. Speed cushions Elder Way – centred on a point 11 metres north east of a point in line with the projected north east kerbline of Dunn Close. The speed cushions to be laid in pairs will be constructed and lit in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 at a height of approximately 65mm above the existing carriageway with on/off gradients of approximately 1:8 and side gradients of approximately 1:5.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (MENDIP WAY, CROMDALE WALK AND FAIRFIELD CRESCENT, GREAT ASHBY, STEVENAGE) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce waiting restrictions in parts of Great Ashby, Stevenage as specified in the Schedule to this Notice. The Order will come into effect on Friday 26 January 2024.
