What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(C131 POOL HEY LANE, SCARISBRICK, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to proceed over that length of C131 Pool Hey Lane, Scarisbrick for a distance of 20m either side of Pool Hey Level Crossing.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Friday 2nd February 2024 until 0800 hours on Monday 19th February 2024 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for cyclists will be maintained on foot.
4. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure are:-

Diversion Route A (08:00 on Friday 2nd February 2024 until 22:00 on Friday 9th February 2024)
C136 Wyke Road, Scarisbrick – C136 Wyke Cop Road, Scarisbrick – C136 Snape Green, Scarisbrick – A570 Southport Road, Scarisbrick and vice versa.

Diversion Route B (22:00 on Friday 9th February 2024 until 08:00 on Monday 19th February 2024)
C136 Wyke Lane, Scarisbrick – C136 Wyke Lane, Banks – C136 Moss Lane, Churchtown (into Sefton Borough) – Moss Lane, Southport, Sefton Borough – A5267 Roe Lane, Sefton Borough – B5276 Norwood Avenue, Sefton Borough – B5276 Norwood Road, Sefton Borough – B5276 Moels Cop Road, Sefton Borough – A570 Scarisbrick New Road, Sefton Borough (into West Lancashire Borough) – A570 Southport Road, Scarisbrick and vice versa.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow track corrosion monitoring, level crossing compliance and concrete sleeper replacement works to be carried out by Centurion Site Services on behalf of Network Rail.
